Encounter

I woke up early. I forgot to close the curtains and the sun was shining more than usual today. I had no idea how I got home, or when, for that matter. My favorite flower was standing next to my book, on the bedside table. How did it get there? I knew better than that… Even if I had no memory at all from last night, I knew who would know my favorite flower, and that thought was enough to make me get wet. My arousal was not something I was looking forward to, especially before coffee.

“Calm down, Seline. You know It can’t ever be as great alone. God only knows where he’s at…”

I drank my coffee in silence. Normal people would feel sick, moody and not at all ready to even open their eyes. I was always different. My body always had a way of listening to my mind. I did not believe in magic, nor was I in any way different, from a medical perspective.

“You are blessed, remember that!”

That thought quickly disappeared as I looked at the single white rose, next to my book. I already read that again and again, but it was my innocent addiction. I knew that in order to read it again, I had to touch the rose. I had to trace where his fingers had gently caressed. I had to smell his perfume on each petal, as he would always do it. I found it weird at first, but I easily got used to it. It was his signature. Ours, as he would keep on reminding me. My flower, his perfume. My arousal, his body. The thought alone got me weak, soft and warm. It had to stop.

I quickly had a shower, determined to ignore the flower, as I would grab my book. The story fascinated me. The great love story between two werewolves: the alpha, and a simple woman. The challenges, the longing, the patience, the rules, and the best part: breaking them. I had so much to learn, still.

“Might as well focus, if I ever want the same with him.”

I didn’t realize when it got dark again. It was about time someone had checked up on me. I had no memory from last night, but others surely did. It was about time to find out…

‘Hey, Seline. Did you sleep well? I’m coming over.’

‘Hey. No, not quite. Was actually going to bed.’ My friend must absolutely not see the rose, and I had no intention to get rid of it. I kept it a secret for so long, that any reality check would have crushed me, even if coming from my best friend.

‘Nonsense. We both know you were not. I can even guess what you are doing right now.’

‘Oh, really?’

‘You wouldn’t happen to have that book in your hands right now, would you?’

‘Uhm, actually, I have my phone.’

‘Oh, look who’s smart. Be there in 10.’

‘Oh well, I always am. Bring tea.’

‘See you soon! Very soon!’

Mia had been my best friend since high school. We grew up together, or at least that’s what I felt like. The most important parts of our life, the biggest changes, we faced together. No wonder she would feel like home. I was all that she had left, with her family gone. And considering that mine was not at all interested in knowing if I was even alive, it made sense to become each other’s family.

“Oh no, that smell…”

It took a second to turn around, and a paper plane filled with his perfume got inside the room, through my open window. I rushed to see if he was there, but I could not see him. He had to be close, and the thought alone made my nipples hard and my thighs hot, while my heart was beating like crazy.

‘Knock, knock’

“Perfect timing.”
