Chapter 1

Hi I’m Thomas, I’m walking to school when rain started chucking it down. I just left the house twenty minutes ago and my hands are already getting cold.

I normally leave my house by ten thirty, if I don’t it’s either because I have a day off or it’s the weekend. Is it just me or do you sometimes hate parents, they just repeat the same things and say the same stuff over and over again.

My mum always says,

“If you don’t go to school, you don’t have a phone.”

even when i’m ill she says it. it’s like me saying to my kids when i’m older,

“You’re attendance is more important than you’re friends.”

It just doesn’t make sense, and it’s not fair either.

On my walk to school I like to get my mind off of a few things, so I normally walk through Wendy park .The site of the dogs playing normally puts me in a happy mood. They don’t give two paws if they get muddy or need a toilet. They just do something and make it out like it’s a laugh. It’s pretty pawsome to be a dog from what it looks like anyway, I’ll stop with the dog puns for now.

Anyway, after I walked through Wendy park, i met up with James, he’s my best friend. He can be annoying sometimes but I can deal with it,kinda, but he’s my friend and that’s what friends are for.

We always joke about and take a shortcut through Waterloo lane, it’s the best place to go before school as that’s where we always get our sweets from on Fridays.

Our favourites that we get are: white chocolate frogs, vanilla fudge, crazy worms, jumbo gummy buttons and jazzes.

The time is normally ten minutes to eleven when we get to school, We walk in to see miss Rochester. Most would say she is the worst teacher but as I’ve got her for most of my classes, she’s the best. I don’t get the problem with the people that say she’s the worst.

On our way to our chairs, I see Brianna. She’s alright but isn’t as fun as all the others. Brianna always wants to sit next to James, she always gives him heart eyes.

I’m sat next to Jess, she’s great to work with. She always makes me laugh and our team work makes the dream work for sure. She has beautiful brown hair with blue eyes and a lovely white smile, I wonder if we’ll be friends forever? Hopefully we will. We’ve known each other since we were four and only ever had one fight. That’s how good our friendship is.

I could never go out with her, it’s like dating a sister. It’s just not right, but everyday I see her she always lightens up my mood and I lighten up hers.

School ends at half three and after school, me and James walk back with one another; back through the alley, around the park and back at home.

For some reason I can’t wait for tomorrow and tomorrow can’t wait for me.
