One Rainy Night
As the cellphone rang up,Nabakrishna Babu,on the way to tuition got down the bicycle to receive the call since he is not accustomed to speaking with anyone while riding on bicycle.He has been teaching in high school for 25 years long and has made out the teaching as one of his propensity,so during holidays he doesn't waste times sitting at home but teaches many students, going to their respective home every night.And the most surprising thing is that he doesn't ask for fees from poors,so everyone respects him with sincere reverence for his benevolent attitude towards impoverished.
Completing the speaking,he again started to drive the cycle for the destination, looked at gloomy dark sky which seemed to him to rain tonight, because the dense darkness has prevailed over the entire sky,a single star is hard to see,everyone is in hurry to return home. He has already finished up couple of tuitions except for one he accelerated to arrive at within probable time. Nabakrishna Babu has however reached his destination.
When he just stepped out on the street, finishing up the tuition, suddenly he got another ring from his mobile and became irritated at it, meanwhile it starts blowing crazy wind with drizzle. The deserted street attests the craziness of the drunken wind coming out of random directions.Gradually the wind intensifies it fierceness and the lofty trees standing alongside the street too combine together for more desperation. Now it turns out to be more difficult for Nabakrishna Babu to stand firmly on one place with his old cycle in one hand and cellphone in another. He reached under a tree and then picked up the call. As he took the phone very close to ear,a familiar voice floating up from the other end said,"Are you coming today,Sir?"
"Have you returned home? Nobody told me!"- Nabakrishna Babu replied in wonder."When were you back? Are you ok now?"
"Yes sir, I'm completely cured and have returned home this afternoon, please come today. It has been long time there is no relationship between book and i" Rina said.
"Okay, I'm coming"- said Nabakrishna Babu helplessly. Though he gave her consent of going to her home,but is mentally unprepared after a journey through stormy weather, besides the prospect of the weather being worst is aggravating in course of time. Nabakrishna Babu thought today of going to home very early because of the cloudy weather and drizzle increasing gradually.He glanced at his wrist watch to see what time it is now. It's around 9p.m.Rina is one of his meritorious students. She had been suffering from viral fever and was admitted to city hospital for better treatment as per the advise given by Nabakrishna Babu. He is now happy to have her again but her request to attend her today is going to be tough for him to keep. It took twenty minutes for Nabakrishna Babu to arrive at his own home.The weather improving somewhat than earlier,he determines to visit Rina after having a light dinner that he had already prepared before he left home for the tuition. The dinner mainly contains assorted vegetables with potato. He has grown up old and was advised by doctor to restrain from excessively having flesh dishes for retaining his health, otherwise extravagance of consumption might cause him to be infected by many diseases,once he is infected at this age,he may have to regret what everyone his age has done. So he has always to be aware of his hygiene.Finishing up a light dinner promptly,he set out along with his ragged umbrella.
