Chapter 1 - Jo
“Don’t stop.”
I run my fingers through his silky black hair, relishing the way his prickly stubble tickles my sensitive inner thighs as he kisses them. I squirm under him and he lets out a low, rumbling chuckle from deep within his chest. I can feel his warm breath as he inches his lips ever closer to my dripping center. One quick lick at my lips with the tip of his tongue and it’s taking everything in me not to tighten my grip on his locks and fuck his pretty little face.
“Yes. Please.” I try to say, but it comes out as a whisper.
“Beep,” says the messy tangle of hair between my legs.
“Huh?” I look down at him.
“Beep beep beEP BEEP BEEP!”
“AHH, what the fuck!” I try to kick him off, but my legs go through his body as his voice transforms into a shrill, high-pitched digital beeping sound and I wake up in bed... Alone.
Of course my dreams are cock-blocking me.
I lean over and silence the evil machine that forcibly invaded the sweetest of dreams in the worst possible way. I look at the time.
Of course I slept through my first alarm.
2-minute makeup and a bun it is, yet again. I launch myself back onto my pillow, now hyper-aware of the wetness between my legs.
“Why did it have to be him?” I flip over and groan into the pillow, contemplating whether or not I needed this job before finally getting up.
After my shower, I throw on a Korean sheet mask and barrel through my house, trying to do a million things at once. I brushed my teeth and hair, picked out an outfit, threw on some mascara and a little lip gloss, and I was good to go.
I took another quick look in the mirror and shrugged. I’d settled for a black turtleneck, matching pencil skirt, and kitten heels. A little monochromatic, but it’ll do, I suppose.
With only a couple of minutes to spare, I race through the lobby of Emerick Enterprises and head for the elevator only to notice the doors shutting.
“Hold the elevator, please!” I run as quickly as these heels and this skirt will allow. I see a hand reach out of the elevator to hold the door.
I slide into the elevator and discreetly try to catch my breath. I straighten my skirt and as I look up, I see him, and my breathing threatens to pick up again.
Phineas fucking Belmont. He would be the one to catch me running late. Foot in mouth, again.
“Thank you for holding the elevator, sir,” I respectfully managed.
“Sure thing.” He casually replies. God, just the sound of his voice gives me tingles. I’m in trouble.
The ride to our level feels endless. 7th floor. 9th. 11th. I dart my eyes around, thankful for the mirrors within the elevator that help me steal glances at Phineas’ gorgeous physique while he stands there with his hands in his pockets. I see a smile play on his lips and hear him chuckle. I fix my gaze ahead.
“Chanel. Coco Mademoiselle.”
I look at him, “I’m sorry?”
“The perfume. That’s what you’re wearing, isn’t it?”
“Oh! Yes, actually.” I swallow to keep the lump forming in my throat at bay.
“It suits you.”
You suit me. Or un-suit me. Dis-suit me?
I stifle a smile. “Thank you.”
12th floor.
The door opens and a nervous young intern steps in with way too many coffee cups to comfortably hold in his hands--those were the days. Only the whirring of the elevator dampens what would have otherwise been deafening silence all the way up to the 24th floor.
I use the mirrors to take in Phineas’ appearance. Camel brown Italian leather shoes complement his olive skin tone. A tailored pair of gray pants show off his strong thighs and chiseled butt. A white dress shirt-- cleanly pressed-- cuffs rolled up his muscular forearms just enough to catch the hint of a tattoo on the right one. Beige suspenders and his simply styled jet-black hair completed the look. It was pushed back and away from his freshly shaved face. An adorable curl punctuates the nape of his neck, while a tendril escaped his grasp and now drapes itself over his left temple, perfectly accentuating the dark, thick lashes over his warm, captivating honey-brown eyes.
He’s breathtaking. As if he stepped out of a time machine, yet somehow not at all out of place.
The doors open and the intern walks out first. I step out after him and my wrist is grabbed from behind as I’m pulled back in. The doors close and Phineas engages the fire lock, stopping the elevator from being called. He pushes the front of my body into the door, pinning my wrist to the small of my back– the mirrors doing their job and not only multiplying our reflections but also my arousal.
“This is what you’ve been thinking about the whole ride up, huh? Me holding you down like this and tasting every inch of you?”
He lightly nibbles at my ear lobe.
“Is this what you want?”
He slowly slides his other hand up my thigh. Inching higher and higher until--
“Miss Mills!” I snap back to reality and realize Phineas is yelling my name and holding the elevator door open for me once again. While everyone within earshot stares.
“Huh?”
“Are you okay?”
“Yeah, of course.” Shit.
“You coming?” If only.
I step out of the elevator and awkwardly clear my throat. “Yeah, sorry. I, um... Didn’t get much sleep last night. I’m a little out of it.”
“You’re good. Maybe grab a coffee from that intern. You could probably both benefit from the assistance” he says with a smirk as he grabs his own coffee from his assistant Judah and saunters off to his office.
I love to watch his body move. I can’t help but stare when he’s within eyeshot. A habit I desperately need to kill. His purposeful yet easygoing gait denotes the confidence of knowing that he’s the most important person in any room of this entire building. The way his back muscles contract under that pristine shirt as he puts the cup to his lips… Ugh, those kissable lips… The way that ass just will not quit…
“Damn, Jo... You crushing on the boss or something?” I’m jerked out of my inappropriate musings by Dani, my best friend, and roommate in her thick New York accent.
“Don’t be stupid. And I’m mad at you! So leave me alone.” I shoot back at her.
“Why? Because I didn’t wake you up? You looked so peaceful humping your lil pillow.” She playfully elbows me then gasps, “Were you dreaming of Phin?”
I found it odd that she nicked his name like that– considering he’s the CEO– but I gave it no further thought.
“Oh my god, shut up!” I whisper. I grab her arm and force her to walk with me to my office.
“Fiiiiine. You’re no fun. But you seriously gotta get laid, kid” she says, for virtually the entire office to hear. “You’re cranky when you’re horny.”
