"The plot & story arc are engaging & pull the reader into the story. Though the story was a little slow in the first couple chapters, once you’ve met the characters & they start interacting, the Heroine really starts to come into her own as a person. The story becomes fully engaged well before the last chapter currently included here. Can’t wait for the rest of the story!!"
Where is the Sequel?
"Flat out, I loved this book. The plot was what really did it for me. It was unique, different, and intriguing. And I fully believe, without a good plot, the interest of a reader can be lost. But this... This book has a FANTASTIC plot. The reader starts in a modern world, learning about our MC and what her life is like as someone who verifies the authenticity of artifacts. Hints are dropped about an impending event that is going to change the MC's life permanently in a way to lead the reader down a different path than intended so that when the big turning point does happen, it leaves the reader with a feeling, OH! That was not what I expected. And that was what sucked me in and kept me hooked until the very end. It is the "other" element I usually look for and a strong female and male lead who have great chemistry throughout. I believe the writing honestly got better the more I read. The details were just enough to allow the reader to fill in the gaps and to create the scene themselves based on what was given by the author. There was appropriate sense and following the plot line, one event leading to the next made sense in a timely manner, and subplots added to what the author wanted to accomplish. One thing I had a bit of an obstacle with was connecting to the MC in the beginning during "crisis" moments. At times it felt the action overloaded the moments the reader needs to commit to the MC, which helped the reader commit to the plot and the overall story, but with a few additional moments of self-reflection, I feel, will really sell Ramona into the hearts of so many. Another suggestion I would like to make is, has it been considered centering book one around Ramona's "awakening" in one location and ending with departure to another location? Instead of jumping between continents twice in one book? I felt the jumping continents twice affected the flow (personal opinion) and thought, what if the Author allowed for a small host of Vogte to be present in New York? And as this novel ended in the same way, the next would be set in Europe. (Just a suggestion ;) Seriously, though, I am excited about the second novel and I would like it ASAP please."
