Preface
“Faith! Faith” I heard my name and turned seeing my best friend Lily standing in the crowd of people on the bleachers. I held my cup and popcorn tighter as I walked to her. Ronnie and Jordan were standing next to her. It was homecoming night, and everyone from our school was here. Many family members of the kids that go here were watching their sons play football. The cheerleaders were sitting with their legs crossed on the sidelines. I hated most of them, but some were pretty nice. Amy was one of the nice ones; she was shy but hilarious. Most of the football team knew me because I was friends with all of them. I cheered half-heartedly due to the fact I didn’t understand the game. I noticed an older man watching me with curious eyes. I ignored him thinking he was just a family member of one of the players.
“You going to the party tonight Faith?” Jordan asked smiling.
“I don’t know. I still have things I have to get done tonight.” I answered truthfully.
“Please it would make my night?” Jordan pouted.
“I’ll come for a little bit” I sighed and looked back at the field. The man was now in the middle of the field staring at me. “What the hell?”
“What?” Lily turned to me. I blinked and the man disappeared.
“Did you not see the man?” I was surprised since he was in the middle of the field.
“What man?” Lily looked at me with a crazy look.
“The one that was in the middle of the field” I pointed.
“There was no man” Lily chuckled.
“I swear I just saw a man in the field” I looked again.
“Alright crazy” She smiled and turned back to the game.
The game ended thirty minutes later. We won by a landslide. I followed Lily to her car, we drove to the party. As soon as I walked in I wanted to leave. There were people drinking, doing drugs, and many people making out or half-dressed. The smell of vomit and alcohol was overwhelming. I immediately turned and sat on the porch not being able to stand the smell. I ran my hands through my hair.
“Hey Faith” Jordan strolled up drunkenly.
“Jordan I don’t have time to deal with this” I stated.
“But Faith I love you” He slurred in my face.
“No you love me when you are drunk but when you are sober I am your friend” I corrected him.
“That’s not true” Jordan whined.
“It is and I am leaving” I stood and walked away. I decided it would be best if I just went home. I was walking down Opal street when I saw the man that was watching me earlier. I stopped and looked around. No one else was about on the streets. I pulled my sweatshirt tighter and continued to walk to my house which was on the other side of the man. As I neared him I saw the dead red eyes that held no light to them. I froze in fear as he took a step towards me. I started to run as fast as I could but he had my arm in his grasps in seconds. I screamed instead which forced his hand to cover most of my mouth and face. The pain came then, all over my body, at first dull but it burned like a fire all over my skin. I struggled and tried to scream but only tears and muffled cries came out. Soon a dark shadow was my only companion as I slipped into the blackness of my mind.
Micheal’s POV
I knew from the moment I saw her she would be a perfect vampire. She was strong-willed but followed what the others did and I wanted her. I was going to create my own little monster. I needed a newborn anyway. I couldn’t get into any more trouble with the Court. With Faith under my order I could get her to do anything I wished and if the Court tried to pin it on me Faith, of course, would take the fall. When her blood touched my tongue I almost didn’t want to stop. Her blood was so sweet it made my head spin. I took more then I should have but she would be fine when she woke. Her body was making the transformation perfectly. I smiled and touched her cold skin. She was almost fully vampire now. I checked my watch for the time. I smiled and walked to the fridge taking out a blood bag. I walked back over ripping it open and letting the cold blood drip into Faith's partially opened mouth. A small swallowing sound made its way to my ears. Faith’s eyes flew open and grabbed the bag away from me as fast as she could. I watched as she downed the bag in three big gulps than turned to me with cold dead black eyes.
