Chapter 1

They stood outside the moonlit warehouse, the five of them all armed with different items. Jojo, a spiked baseball bat that he had decorated himself with absolutely no help from his brother Connor, who had with him a hockey stick. There was Jamie, who was wielding a sledgehammer, and Gray who had a crowbar(he left his cleaver in the house). Then there was Jasper. Jasper came with his axe.

“So, what do you guys want to do?” The guys knew this was a trick question. There was no way that it wasn’t. Leukjent already said he wanted these people dead and what he wanted, he got. They couldn’t back out of it anyways; Jasper would get a proper scolding if so. “Who wants to go in first?” “I’ll do it!” Jojo exclaimed. Connor raised his dark eyebrow at him and smiled. Well, it was more like a smirk, Connor always smirked at his brother, always. “You sure you can do it alone little brother?” That name. That damned name. “I’m your twin brother,” he thought, out loud he said “I can manage, Con.” “Woah there inchworm, no need to be so cold towards your brother. Besides, we have a job to do.” There were reasons why Jasper was a leader, and these times highlighted them.

“Alright. Jojo, you’re going in first, but through the window. Gray, you’re following him. Get everything we need and then we’re blowing up this dinky shed. Ok?” “I thought we were collecting heads?” “Jamie, we are, just not manually. Leukjent changed his mind, I guess.” “At least you get to see some cool explosions.” Gray said, his voice ever monotone. Jamie shrugged his shoulders. He was bloodthirsty, but easily appeased. “Ok, let’s finish!”

“Hey, Jas?” “Jojo?” “What the hell did we get for Leukjent anyways?” Jojo asked as he held up the light cotton bag. It was lighter than any of the other things they had picked up for their chairman. “I don’t know, he won’t tell me,” Jasper deflected, knowing that he didn’t have the answer, truly, but could possibly obtain the answer with little difficulty. “You sure you don’t know?” Connor walked around him, stopping his way. “Why don’t you answer my baby brother Jasper? After all, you should be able to?” Jasper’s eyes lidded. “I can’t answer questions I don’t know the answers to, Connor.” “Hey guys, stop fighting please…?” The three of them turned around. Connor chuckled. “Chill, Jamie,” Connor said, breaking the three second silence, swinging his hockey stick and walking forward. “We aren’t fighting.” “Oh, ok then! Let’s go back!” It made Jasper and Connor smile, how passive Jamie was. “But it’s better than how he was before, so I’m happy.” They all thought that, including Jamie. Everything is much better now than it was before, by all accounts.

“I’m back!” Jamie burst through the front doors of his house. “Jamie darling. How was work today?” “I got to see a warehouse explode!” “That’s wonderful darling. I remember when your father and I did our first collection.” “This isn’t my first collection, mamma. But you wouldn’t know that.” “That’s great! I’m going upstairs now!” Jamie was lucky to have parents in the business, both parents. Most people he knew or hung around could not begin to imagine to have at least one relative on their side, let alone immediate family members. It was his parent’s fault that he was even in the business in the first place; they made sure he was close with the lead to assure his position. And what quicker route than Jasper? He was Leukjent’s son. You don’t get any closer than that.

Jasper was lucky. Beyond lucky, he was incredibly fortunate. His father was leading one of the biggest underground organisations, and as a result he was pouring, oozing with money. He was under constant protection; nobody would lay a finger on him. Hell, nobody could! But yet he never felt 100% with himself, and he was meant to. So why didn’t he?

“You have what I need, son?” “Yes.” “Yes what?” Jasper sighed. “Yes sir.” “Good boy.” “Good boy? I’m 17!” “When can I see your face, sir?” “When you’re worthy, son.” “Oh, that’s new. Usually, it’s when I’m ready, and now I’m not even worthy. Is being your offspring not enough to win your love, dad?”

Gray’s parents were as distant as he was, and he knew they didn’t do it on purpose. They just didn’t know how they should’ve reacted to the fact that their son had and is still responsible for the “disruption of people’s lives”, as they said it. It wasn’t as if they weren’t distantly related to this, to Leukjent’s whole operation. Still, he should be happy that they didn’t kick him out, but he’s just barely there.

Connor and Jojo were fraternal twins with little to no similarities. One was trying to prove that he didn’t need the other to survive, meanwhile the other was trying his best to protect his sibling in any way possible, by any means possible. It didn’t always come off that way though, Jojo’s desire to outshine Connor grew more and more over time. Connor was worried that it would get him into trouble, and he was the only one who could notice this. Their parents weren’t watching half the time.

“Jas! How are ya bud?” Jasper hung his head down. He really wasn’t in the mood. “Izoucho. I’m doing fine.”
