Summary

Because we live in a broken, fallen world, the feeling of wanderer is easy to come by. And the broken world does not necessarily become easier for the one who becomes God's child. You have probably had at least one season (if not multiple seasons) where you felt as a "wanderer". You live and walk through life moment by moment, day by day, year by year and yet find that you're not sure where you're headed and feel like you carry your cross and struggle with life, alone. Yet all of this must find its end at the feet of the redeeming hope of God's truth. For the Christian, this feeling is deeper because he knows that, despite the unknown and uncertain life and future that stretches before him, he is not really walking through life aimless, helpless and directionless but rather being led and guided by the unseen God; the Father in Heaven. I have written this book to share with any and all those who feel like they're alone in their life and their walk after God. In my imperfect poetry and heart, I have sought to reflect and display this truth of God: That we have tangible hope (assurance) to have and hold in this life and keep us in our walk before Him. If you have seen the path before you as uncertain... If you have found yourself a lonely and struggling traveler through life... Or have felt yourself like a leaf being carried by an unseen wind... Then my book is for you.

Afraid to Spill Ink

-set to "Buried Talents vs. Buried Seeds"

To this unbroken ground, you have come

What shall you do next?

Will you let the quill plow and furrows run

Or withhold, to protect?

You have been given this ground

A talent in your hand

Trust the harvest will abound

By the ink you spill

And the seeds you plant

Do not lie to man or his Maker

By hiding your blots and stains

Write for His eyes, on paper

Do not fear, for you will not be ashamed

Cast your bread upon the waters

You will find it after many days

Mysteries cannot conceal your Father

Whose Presence exceeds the world's stage

Why long for strangers to know your story

When there is One closer, who is thy glory?

Be content with the 'seeming least' if none will know

The fruits you bear from the seeds you've sown

If your mortal hope does not die

Then it must remain alone

Only from Death will it arise

By His Spirit breathed on these dry bones

Do not be afraid, but sow and believe

Rejoice in the One who, in secret, sees

So what if the world never notices

Your pages and petals unfold?

Do all to His glory

And such will become Heaven's gold

And what if your heart's ink makes mistakes as it is shed

On each page of every day He gives?

He will weave His tapestry with your darker threads

For there is no blemish more permanent

Than the Blood that forgives
