The great ESCAPE

Chapter 1

Ladonnas log:

I woke up. My alarm clock read 6:30 am . I got out of bed got dressed and I brushed my teeth. I was trying not to wake my parents . I got on my bike and began riding to my best friend's house . I didn't have school since it was spring break . I had to get to my friends house as fast as I could . I had big news. News that would change everything . Something I'd over heard yesterday . I was in the parking lot of the Dollar$tore went I'd heard the mayor talking and giving orders. Orders to get selected teens . Drag them out of their homes and take them to the 'base'. So they can begin testing and unfortunately my best friend Pete is one of them so am I and his younger brother named Casey . What I hear won't be pretty .

So you know it's bad when I Ladonna Joyce Thompson don't scare easily , this does just a little bit . I know that Pete and Casey scare easily and Casey has anxiety . So this won't be easy. One other hard thing it's almost 7:00 now. Pete sleeps in till 12:30-1:30 in the afternoon . Casey will be up at least he'll have to let me in since Pete has slept through when their smoke detectors battery died and it was going off all night . He's such a deep sleeper . I reached Pete’s house . I threw a rock up at Casey's bedroom window . He opened it. " I'm really sorry it's so early but I really need to talk to Pete it's very important" I said. " I'll unlock the door and you can wake him" Casey said. I waited until Casey opened the door .

I went upstairs to Pete’s room. I went into wake him. It took a while probably 10 minutes to wake him. " Ladonna , can't you wait to see me later? You know once I've woken up ,had breakfast , brushed my teeth and got dressed ,maybe even had a shower?" Pete asked me . "I'm sorry I'm bothering you sleeping beauty,but it's so important it can't wait 10 would be too late to tell you". Pete squinted at me still. His sandy brown hair falling in his eyes . " can I please go to the bathroom first Ladonna?" Pete asked. "Yes go to the bathroom I'll tell you when your done". I waited for Pete to come back. When he was back he sat on his bed and gestured for me to sit beside him.

I told him everything . The big plan is in action at 10:00. So I had to tell Pete before . March 15th 10:00 selected teens will be forced to go to wherever and whatever the 'base' is. Only if I knew that what was going to happen I would have said goodbye to my parents and my little sisters . No way I could've left my sister Christabella( 13 )and Lili-Anne( 7)and Melody(1) it would be the last time I ever saw my sisters and my parents. And I'd have to make decisions that a 16 year old shouldn't have to make .
