To Good To Be True
A damp humid breeze brushed across his face as he approached the dark, gloomy hallway. He walked down it and opened the big heavy door leading towards a stage. He walked towards a man holding a big was cheque, he was filled with joy at the site of the crowd cheering on his name. He took the cheque with $8 million printed on it, he just won the lottery.
He looked in the crowd seeking out his wife and children in the front seats looking at him filled with excitement. He immediately took the cheque as well as a picture with a guy. There was a massive roar from crowd, he felt on top of the world, “nothing can be better than this” he thought to himself. It was almost too good to be true.
He and his family started the drive home. His wife couldn’t stop talking about how they would spend their money, buy a new house, designer clothes, fancy shoes, posh food from expensive restaurants, “let’s spoil ourselves and her children” she said.
However the husband had other plans as it was his money. He planned on using it to pay his debts and to open a business and become a successful businessman, this was his life long dream. After he mentioned this to his wife she was a little disappointed with his intentions. She believed that with all the money he won, he didn’t need to have a business or even better to never work again. He succumb to his wife’s desires and decided to live lavish and forget his business, she was very persuasive.
The following week the husband thought of taking his wife to an expensive restaurant for a nice meal, it was their anniversary. The wife said that she would rather have the cash so she can buy a new Louis Vuitton hand bag for herself than go to dinner with him. He was devastated at her selfish behaviour, has this money changed her sweet personality and made her in to something he did not recognize. Worst than that his innocent daughter was the same, always pleading for new gifts, toys and more possessions, none of which she wanted or satisfied her for more than mere moments.
The one thing he loved about this family was his son. He was still the same old boy before we had this money. Due to this his father used to regularly ask his son to pick something for his father to buy but he always replied with the same answer buy something useful in life not something that will get you nowhere. The day came when Thomas the husband had seen Harper the wife’s true self after she threw a fit at him for not buying her a designer Calvin Klein handbag. He yelled back saying “Calvin Klein handbag could never get her anywhere in life”. But she persuade him to buy it anyway. She would always say “if you love me buy me stuff” and of course Thomas love Harper very much so he used to always buy her what ever she wanted.
This all lasted a while until one day when Thomas went out looking for a job he had seen Harper his wife in the shop buying Calvin Klein, Gucci and Prada. What he didn’t like was that he saw his kids with their mother and whilst Sienna was having a great time buying Gucci, Prada and Calvin Klein just like a mother but Adrian was behind both of them really sad. Thomas went into the shop whilst keeping a distance from his family to find out exactly why Adrian was sad. He then heard Adrian asking his mother if he could buy something but instead his mother screamed at him telling him how he was being a spoiled brat and deserved nothing. He then heard Adrian say how Sienna gets everything and how he’s not got one thing, the one time he wants to get something he’s not allowed.
He was astonished at what he saw next. His beloved wife slapped his 7 year old son so hard that he immediately fell to the floor. One can only imagine the despair his son felt knowing that he had been defeated. Thomas stared in shock as his son remained on the floor for a little while.
Shortly after he got up in silence, looking down at his feet, whilst both his mother and sister ignorantly just stared at the clothes trying them on one by one.
Thomas was disgraced at Harper’s behaviour he then went to the rack behind his son and whispered out Adrian‘s name. His son looked back in shock to see who was calling him. He then saw his father besides the rack of clothes, he instantly ran towards his father and hugged him tightly. Thomas then said if there was anything Adrian would like to tell him there but Adrian just stood there with tear filled eyes but kept silent knowing the consequences he would have had if he spoke the truth. Thomas pretended not to have seen anything just to save his son from the embarrassment. He approached his wife and said he had noticed his wife in the shop whilst looking for a job. His wife gave Adrian a deadly stare assuming he told Thomas everything she wasnt ready to stop buying her “beautiful” Prada shoes but there was nothing mentioned about the situation. He just said he and said how he would be going now so that he could find himself a job sooner. As he turned away and started walking towards the exit Harper let out a sigh of relief. She gave Adrian an evil grin and said good boy. Adrian look back in disgust how could his mother be so evil. A couple weeks later Thomas stop giving Harper and Sienna any money. Saying how their $8 million was soon to be gone. Harper did not take this lightly she was furious she was envious and greedy and her daughter wasn’t any better they abused Adrien together taking out their anger on him. Once Thomas figured out what was going on to Adrian he wanted a divorce with Harper and said how she could keep the daughter and how he will keep the son. But she wasn’t having it, she wanted the money so when she was offered the divorce papers she took out a hidden knife and held it towards Thomas. She scream to Thomas THE MONEY. Luckily Adrian had noticed just in time what was going on. He got a pan from the kitchen drawer and hit it at the back of his crazy mothers back. His father let out tears.He then ran rapidly to his son and gave him the biggest hug “I just learnt that from a YouTube video dad” said adrien innocently his father just chuckled to himself. Thomas then told his son to go pack his stuff and that they getting out of this evil hellhole. That’s exactly what they did. Months had passed soon to be years and everything was completely fine they had brought a new house. And living life to the fullest. Thomas was making his way to be a completely successful businessman. He has gotten promoted multiple times and was sure to become the director of the company. He couldn’t have done any of this without his son by his side always supporting him. Until one day the worst of the worst had showed up in their life. Thomas as well as Adrian had gone to the park to have a little stroll they were around the pond, feeding the ducks. Adrien was a little scared of ducks so Thomas was there to teach him how not to be afraid until suddenly these men come out of nowhere and had beaten them up. They then put bags over their head and had taken them. They were unconscious but when they had awoken they had seen them self opposite each other all blooded all injured. Thomas was terrified of how much they had injured his son. His son blooded from head to toe. There were three of these men in black hats and masks who argued a lot. They seemed to hate each other their names was Diego and he was the leader there was also Lorenzo and the youngest member was Sucre. Lorenzo and Diego had gone up to Thomas and asked for money Thomas had a rapid response saying how he will give them how ever much as long as they leave Adrian alone. They asked for $2 million. Thomas replied saying he could give them that just leave his son aline. They then immediately without a thought put a knife to Adrian’s throat. Adrien was crying his eyes out and was terrified of these men, Sucre then said that by putting a knife towards the kids throat was a little much, but Diego just told him to shut up and back away.Thomas then agreed to that he would give more and said just to let the kid and him go but they blanked him and had asked Sucre to keep an eye on them while they get food. They had actually took a while as they kept arguing on where they were going to go get food from they then had finally agreed on McDonald’s. They had left and told Sucre to be in charge of keeping and eye on Thomas and Adrian. It was dead silent when Thomas attempted to make Sucre fall for the guilt trip and let them go. Luckily he did and ended up letting them free and warned them not to be in public to much or else his brothers will get them again so they agreed and had ran away back to their house.
They arrived to the front of their house to see that their front door was left slightly opened. Thomas told Adrien to wait by the door so he could go check inside for an intruder. Thomas entered his home slowly tip toeing around the place. He then tried scanning the place to make sure no one was prepared to attack him or his son. He noticed cups,plates and bowls all smashed to pieces of the floor but then he saw the most horrendous sight of his life which was the Gucci bag he had brought for his wife 9 years ago still in good condition. He then swerved his body to face towards the front door he ran down the hallway to the sight of his son with one gun to the neck and the other towards his head. One gun was held by Sienna the other by Harper. It had been about 8 years and still they weren’t giving up. “It’s nice to see my presious husband again , I mean it’s been around 8-9 years aren’t u happy either” she said as she chuckled at the sight of Adrian, “Wow you’ve grown a lot mistake haven’t you” she mentioned to adrien. He kept silent trying not to get angry he then looked back at his sister and called her a selfish brat, she gave the most dirtiest stare and then hit him hard in the head with the gun he dropped with his hands on his head in pain. His sister laughed and told him that it’s better if he kept him gob shut. He did so.
Thomas was furious ‘they had the nerve to come break into my house and hurt my son’ he thought to himself. He wanted to kill them so bad but with a gun to his son he had no choice. “What do you want Harper, money ?” asked Thomas. Harper looked down at Adrien and then back up at Thomas. She then began to talk and said “ I want ‘us’ to be a thing again but this time without the rat!” (She referred to Adrien as rat). Thomas was now annoyed he started yelling at Harper “YOU COME BACK TO ME AND MY SON AND RUINED OUR HAPPY LIFE!” he yelled but he wasn’t done “NO WAY THAT AINT HAPPENING IF YOU WANT A HAPPY FAMILY ADRIEN IS NOT GOING TO GO ANYWHERE!.”
Harper was furious however she wasn’t giving up she will get what she wanted so she pointed the gun at Adrien once again. Thomas started yelling at Harper to put the gun down but she refused, the next thing you know. *BANG.
