Once upon a time, there was a kingdom, with a King and a Queen. The Queen was expecting to give birth at any given moment. She was nervous and terrified. This was her first child, after all, then it came, water came rushing down her legs. The royal staff was quick to respond to the Queen.
After many grueling hours of labor, a princess is born. The princess isn’t like any other princess that was ever born. She’s a scaly lizard with tiny wings that don’t seem to fold in quite right. All the King’s advisors and doctors don't seem to understand why the princess is a dragon. No one is going to deny the fact that, this dragon and the King have the same exact eyes. No one in the room can explain it, no one could remember anyone wanting to curse the royal family. It didn't make any sense! The King and Queen love their firstborn daughter, even if she's a dragon, the royals keep their daughter a secret.
She is placed in the tower of the castle, for protection so no one tries to slay their precious gem. The Queen would go to the tower and read bedtime stories to the toddler princess. At this stage, she has created a nest with all of her valuables, which were toys gifted to her by the royal staff and jewelry that she tugged at from her mother. Whenever someone does something funny in front of the Princess she would let out little puffs of smoke from the corners of her mouth.
One day the King had decided to go visit his daughter because he was finally able to sneak out and see her. He finished climbing the stairs, completely out of breath from running away from his responsibilities and also running up so many stairs. He keeps forgetting he's not as young as he used to be. He knocks on the door and hears a little chirp from behind the door. He takes that as his cue to enter and once again his breath is stolen from him once more. His little Princess was flying around the room and flew into his chest. He was so proud and pleased. His daughter had flown across the room for the first time!
As the Princess grew older, she grew larger. She had finally grown into her wings. Her parents had decided to move her to a bigger tower, it was still close to the castle though. The King and Queen would still visit, but not as much as they could when the Princess lived with them in the castle. The Princess was so happy to have moved to this new tower. She had more space to move around. Since the Princess had come of age many knights and Princes would arrive to the tower. Climb it and look inside it, only to discover a twenty-foot long dragon getting her horns polished and shined by one of the palace’s handmaidens.
Several times a month whenever the King and Queen would go to visit their daughter, they would find that their daughter would have kidnapped a Princess from another kingdom, the King and Queen both tried to say something about their daughter kidnapping the same Princess over and over again, but the Princess would just do what she wanted anyway. The other Princess didn't mind it one bit and actually looked forward to her “daily kidnappings” and she loved her dear dragon Princess. It’s given her a new fire in her life, she could say that this dragon Princess was her lover. And they stayed like that for the rest of their lives.
And with that, this story about a Dragon Princess’ life comes to an end. I hope you enjoyed it and I’ll see you in the next book/ story. Bye!
