Summary

We read about things all the time that we either wish we had in our world, or are glad cannot be replicated. Sometimes that judgment is made incorrectly, as some people are crazy enough to have transformed fiction into fact.

Prologue

Two men stood face to face in an abyss, cerulean and oxblood eyes never leaving the other. The red-eyed man clawed at a barrier between them, but the other stood his ground.

0

“You can’t keep me locked away forever, Maximilian!” He growled, still trying to break out. “You’ll let your guard down soon enough, and then I’ll be free!”

0

Max took a step forward, and calmly said, “I can be rid of you any time, Demetrio.”

0

He knew exactly what that meant.

0

Maximilian had been suffering from this duality, this fusion of minds, for the majority of his life and he made a promise that if the world was ever exposed to Demetrio, Max would take his own life. Neither of them knew what would happen if this feral other half were to take control but it would be chaos, possibly with a touch of arson.

0

Demi was suddenly calm, almost calculating, as if he’d found the perfect target.

0

“Of course you could. Nothing is keeping you from taking a bullet to the skull or a knife to the wrists.”

0

His cold, raspy voice ran a chill down Max’s spine, his breath misting the invisible barrier separating the him from his host.

0

“Oh, my dear Maximilian,” he breathed condescendingly. “Always looking for an easy way out...”

0

The two locked eyes, neither willing to back down. Demetrio smirked and put his hands against the wall.

0

But what will you do when you have something to lose?”

Evtida: It was a very sweet story, but it felt rushed. It didn't really convey the emotions. For example, when the girl was kidnapped, instead of panicking, going crazy, and causing a scene, giving in felt strange... His exaggerated relationship with his gay friend was also odd in my opinion.
