Chapter 1||The announcement
Jessica’s P.O.V.
I looked in my dad's car mirror gathering my hair in my hands, I put it into a tight bun and leaned back. It was a pretty warm morning outside so we had the windows down, but due to my curse of anemia; I was constantly feeling cold. So I wore a grey hoodie and a pair of leggings, so I would be pretty warm but not to hot, I do be high maintenance. I closed my eyes pushing my head back into the seat, "tired?" My dad asked form the drivers seat beside me, i opened my eyes again.
I nodded "yeah...it's to early for this" I said with a slight laugh, I glanced over at him with a small smile. "Last Monday of freshman year" he said cheerfully as he pulled up to the entrance curb of the school, "yay" I said unauthentically. I hate my school so yeah I was excited to leave it for three months but then I have to find something to do in this boring town. I'd lived here since I was five and since then everything 'fun' has closed down, me and my few friends have no where to hang at.
My dad slowed down to a stop and I opened my door, getting out of the car and then grabbing my bag. "Love you" he said as I swung my bag over my shoulder "love you too" I said and gave him another smile, he pointed at me. "You're a badass, remember that" he said and that got me to genuinely smile as I closed the car door. I turned and heard him pull away as I started to walk off towards the entrance, I opened the main door and was immediately hit by a gust of hot air.
I pulled at the collar of my hoodie, hugging my bag on my shoulder closer, hallways this late would luckily not be too crowded at the moment. "Hey Howard" I heard someone say from behind me, I sighed softly before turning around to see Tristan Evans standing by the door. "Yes?" I asked, he had a pleased smirk on his face as he remained quiet, I turned around again to start walking away. He was quick to grab my arm to stop me "let go" I said trying to pull away from him, "come on Jess...you've kept this act up all year, when you gonna give me another shot?" He asked.
I shrugged "when are you gonna give up. It's not happening again" I said and the bell rang. I yanked my arm away from him and started to my home room class that was luckily really close. I could already hear my loud ass group of friends before I entered the room, when I did finally enter I sat down relatively close to them. They were all talking in laughing, it was good to see them all in a good mood today, maybe they'd put me in better spirits.
There were seven of us in total, there was of course me, Cassie hovs; my best friend and our groups main ring leader. Maddie Miller; the band nerd who also acted as a strong support system, Madeline Clark; she was usually pretty quiet. Her boyfriend Eryn Jones; the athletic one who mainly focused on soccer then anything, Brooke Sloane; the smart one who mainly focused on her classes and class work. Lastly Michael Davis; he was also on the soccer team with Eryn but he was definitely the ladies man of our group.
Grayson’s P.O.V
I tapped my foot impatiently waiting for something to happen, I looked up when I noticed Tristan siting in the seat in front of me, he turned around. A stupid smirk on his face, I was still fairly new to town still, moved in to my house with my family 3 weeks ago. I made a few friends but most people are boring here, Tristan is not the best person I've met though, he can be narcissistic at times and kind of a bully to people who he sees as 'against him'. "What has you smirking?" I asked leaning back into my chair.
I crossed my arms as I cocked an eyebrow up at him "nothing, just a girl, trying to play hard to get" he said shortly. "Anyone in here?" I asked glancing around the room, he shook his head "Nope Different home room" he explained and I nodded slowly. Loud noise echoed out the announcement speakers before one of the ladies I think from the front office started to speak. "Attention students and faculty, of everyone could please make there way to the gymnasium please" she said, I looked at Tristan and he shrugged she shoulders before standing up like the rest of the class.
I stood up as well, looking at the teacher "everyone just leave your things here, you can get them after" she said. Everyone left their bags on the floors and chairs, heading out of the room I hung back, which made me the last person out. I put my hands in my jean pockets, turning the corner out of the classroom, I glanced up just in time as someone else left a different room. A girl, her hair was in a a tight looking bun, wearing a basic outfit of hoodie and leggings, it didn't take away from how beautiful she was.
Her eyes met mine as she stopped moving; stopped in her tracks, that's when I realized I'd stopped moving. She looked away from me quickly and started to walk again, I heard my name come quietly from a group of girls about 2 feet away. I looked over at them, they were practically drooling, I looked away and started to walk to the gym; the girl was nowhere in sight anymore. I made my way to the gym quickly, I stood towards the side with some other students as the principal started to speak.
