CHAPTER ONE
THE BIG DAY
HANNAH BERNARD
I walked over the to the window and reflected on my magical surroundings I have always loved gery Paris with its blushing bolied beaches.It was a place that encouraged my tendency to feel delighted and confident. I am happy i will be leaving home for college soon but at the same time so down-hearted I will be leaving paris to brighton in England for college soon. Thinking of how I will survive without my family. I am really going to miss them alot.
Jason my younger brother shouting my name
"Hannah" queen of nerds come downstairs for dinner...
I replied him and said give me a minute I will be there you little dweeb.
I went downstairs to have dinner, saw that my mum has arranged my belongings and bought some necessary thing I will need to take to college while having dinner mum smiled at me and asked me
"hannah" are you prepared for college
i gave her this fake smile and replied her
"am prepared mum".. My dad smiled at me and said I know you are my princess.
After dinner i went to my room and lied on my bed looking at the celling thinking of how my first day in college going to look like.
"Hannah" I heard my dad's voice call from the the front of my door with a smile on my face i immediately opened the door and gave him a hug he entered into my room and we both sat at the edge of my bed. He called my name "Hannah" he put a locket around my neck and told me to read what is on the locket i read it out which says
"Be You" my dad faced me and stared into my eye and said to me i am giving you this locket my mum gave me on my nineth birthday.I want you to always remember what it is written on it the locket is old but the message remain the same it does not change.
Be yourself, no contortion required always remember where you came from i love you so much my princess I will miss you I want you to make me proud. I bursted into tears and hug him
i love you dad am really going to miss you i promise to make you proud dad then my mum and younger brother came in and gave me a tight hug i bursted into tears and said am really going to miss you mum,
my mum replied saying" I will miss you too baby"and gave me a kiss on my forehead. I faced my little brother and said to him
Jason my little bubu i will miss you
he replied and said I will miss you sis he gave a kiss on my cheek.
(Alarm rings out).......................
My alarm woke me up. It is 7:00am in the morning, my mind is not settled and also having goosebumps because today is the most important day i will be resuming for college.
"Hannah" i hear my mum's voice call from downstairs. I haven't even left for college yet am feeling homesick, i was feeling so lazy to stand up from my bed, i had so many thought ringing in my head that i forgot that my mum was calling me
I stretched my hand to the other side of my bed to pick my family framed picture, i stared at it for 5 minutes and I smiled because i had flashbacks of the memories we shared. I took my journal and wrote a creative write up about my family

A home of love that is like a rose in full bloom beautiful and full of life
A home of love where the love we have for eachother lives on forever
Where foundation of faith is built, where there is compassion and affection, where strong bond exist, where promises of love is been fufilled

I smiled and closed my journal
I stood up from the bed and gently did my daliy routine, because after today i wont be staying in the room.
"Hannah!" she calls my name
Mum want to be sure that am up from bed and not fast asleep
''I am up!" i screamed loudly so that she can hear me
I went to the bathroom to shower feeling so anxious
I wasn't thinking straight to the extent that i mistakently put soap into my eye while bathing
I screamed so loud!.
I was done taking my bath and i wrap my wet body
I came out of the bath room, dryed my wet hair with a dryer
While I was putting on my dress my stomach grumbled
Am not even hungry just been nervous that why my stomach sounds that way.
I bent down to put on my pairs of sandals and tears rolled down my face.
"Hannah" my mom yelled my name come downstairs dear. " I replied her and said am coming mum"
I know everyone is anxious about my resumption day at the college.
The day my acceptance letter to university of Sussex to study medicine and sugrery was sent to my email i was so happy and my parent so proud of me , i promise to always put a smile on their face, to be deligent, study very hard and make them a proud parent.
I took my leave by going downstairs, guess who I saw? It my bestfriend Steve
I was so suprised and happy to see him, he came towards me and gave me a warm hug and he said i will miss you my Barbie.
Tears rolled down my cheeks and I replied him and said
I will miss you alot my prince charming, my super hero
he kissed me on my forehead. All my belongings has been parked into the car
Dad will be going with me to my college he has a business conference to attend in england..am so happy that am not travel alone.
Our flight is by 1pm.. Traveling from paris to england is just 1hour journey by flight but by car is about 5hours 31 minutes.. Traveling by air is faster and more condusive for me.
we need to arrive to the airport very early
My dad walked in that it is time for us to leave for the airport
I hugged my mum and little brother. tears rolled down their cheek
i cried also.. My mom wiped my tears and kiss me on my head
and said l love you baby and take good care of your self
Be good my princess! I replied i will mum i hugged her
I turned to my bestie and hugged him"take care my prince charming"
we both laugh out loud.
I walked into the car with my dad and wave at my mum, my little brother and bestfriend and we took off for paris orly airport
I and my dad got to the airport just in time
It was time for us to check in for our flight
An annoncement was madee for passengers heading to England should be prepared.
We got into the plane and took our sitting position, i was sitting right beside my dad
It was time for the plane to take off, my add adjusted my seat belt
(Plane took off for England around 1:00pm)
An announcement was made around 2:00pm that we have gotten to london city airport and the plane will be landing soon)
our plane landed and every passenger departed.
I and my dad took our laugagges and walked outside the entrance of the airport
There is a cab man waiting for us.. he waved at us and walked to toward us and said it you sir welcome to london, my dad replied him yes it me thanks
He assisted us with our lauguagges and we got into the cab. Another journey entirely I nodded my head feeling anxious. London city airport to sussex university is about 1hour 37 minutes.I saw many beautiful places during the journey.
My dad smiled at me Hannah i bet you are going love your new environment
I looked at him with a serious look and said i hope so dad
We have finally gotten to university of sussex i got goosebumps
I didnot want to come out of the cab but i got no choice I have to.
I could see the amazement in my dad's face
The cab man brought out my laugaggages, i stepped out of the car and immediately my leg started to shake and started having sweaty palm because am so nervous . I was really amaze by the environment it is beautiful and condusive. My face was pale and my dad noticed it
He faced me and hug me and said you don't need to be afraid my love. This is another chapter of life you are going to be fine.You need to be strong and confident
You need to overcome your fears baby, you will be fine my love

I was a little bit relieved when I had a talk with my dad
I and dad entered the college and went straight to the student hostel
I was thinking of how my roommate is going to look like
I knocked and opened the wooden door i immediately fell in love with my room the design was really homely and i heard a sweet gentle voice saying "who is there" she came out from the rest room and approach me and my dad and she greeted him well. she came saying if i may guess you my roommate. I smiled and replied yes I am.. She introduced herself. "I am Tracy Alison and you are"
I replied her "I am Hannah Bernard"
It nice meeting you she said, i gave her a smile saying same here.
She was so happy to see me and gave me a hug. I was move by her nice gesture and the way she welcomed me, this made me like her instantly.
She was of medium height but she was really pretty and very shy. But we got acquainted almost immediately.. my dad had a little conservation with my roommate, she spoke respectly to my dad this made me love her more.
My dad called my name "Hannah" I replied him "yes dad"
He said my princess I have to take my leave now
I have to prepare for tommorrow business conference

I replied him and said "sure I will dad "with a smile on my face
I and my roommate accompany my dad out
we got to where the cab man had parked
My dad gave me a warm hug i didnot want to let go but I had to
My dad got into the cab and smiled and wave at me and my roommate
I and my roommate smiled and wave back at him
Then the cab man drove-off.
