Chapter 1

Sarah knew she shouldn't be here. Stooping behind a blackberry bush in the middle of the night. She would be so embarrassed if Phillip turned and looked back.

What was she doing? Stalking her ex like a maniac. Get a grip, Sarah! what is wrong with you?

Standing, Sarah brushed the dirt off her jeans tried to quietly sneak away. Unfortunately, she stepped on a fallen blackberry twig making a loud crunch sound that immediately caught Phillip's attention.

"Oh, hey Sarah," he said cheerfully, smiling innocently "what are you doing here? did you lose something?"

Sarah's blood boiled, she was lost for words. GOD, I know I haven't been to church often, but please get me out of this situation. She thought desperately. She smiled nervously "well, for your information, I'm just waiting for my boyfriend"

He raised a brow, his smile fading "Behind a bush?" he looked at it then back at her.

"Well, you see, the thing is, I- I dropped my......lip gloss!" she smiled nervously, "I thought I saw it roll behind the bush but I guess it rolled somewhere else" she sighed dramatically "and it was my favorite"

"Peach 'N' Cherry, right?" he asked confidently.

Sarah's eye twitched in frustration "right" she said through her teeth fighting to keep her smile.

"Oh bummer, and I know how much you loved those weird combos." he shook his head.

"It's not- you know what, never mind. what are you doing here Phil?- I mean Phillip?" it was back to formality for them. She still couldn't believe they broke up.

"Oh I'm waiting for my girlfriend, Bethannie, I think you two know each other. You used to work together in that ice cream place, the summer after we graduated high-school"

"Yeah, Bethannie" GOD, please get me out of here. Anyone. Please.

Just then a black Lexus SUV slowed on the opposite side of the road.

Here goes nothing. "Oh there he is, silly him, parking on the wrong side..pff, well it was nice seeing you again Phillip but I gotta go" She quickly crossed the road and headed to the front passenger seat "hey, Uhm, sorry to bother you, my name's Sarah Cornell, I need a ride.. I'll pay promise"

The driver was a very handsome man, with a fade, topped with a pile of luscious curly brown hair. He had baby blue eyes, a sharp nose, and the sexiest lips she'd ever seen. His eyes were brimmed by thick, full lashes and accented by neat eyebrows, even his ears were perfect. The man's lips curved into a half smiled "Hop in"

Sarah sighed in relief and got in "thank you, you're a lifesaver"

They drove in silence for a while, till the man said "Very brave of you to enter a stranger's car, and not even asking as much as his name. Or you're maybe just foolish"

"Oh, my bad. It's just that I needed to get outta there" she glanced back.

"Still, I could be a serial killer, or a human trafficker or a Rapist" he half-smiled again, glancing at her a brief second.

"But you're not any of these." she said half-confidently "right?"

The man laughed. He had a sexy laugh, the kind you'd hear celebrities doing on a TV show. "No, I can assure you, I bring you no harm"

Sarah laughed but shifted her weight more to the door.

"I'm Jeremiah, by the way" he smiled fully this time, exposing straight, white, evenly shaped teeth.

Damn, was he pulled from a fashion magazine? Sarah bit her lip lightly and turned away.

Jeremiah chuckled "it's a bit hot, don't you think?" he rolled down his window, and Sarah caught a whiff of his expensive cologne. He swerved a left causing Sarah to lean towards him "Whoa, careful" he placed a hand lightly on her arm to push her away.

Sarah felt goosebumps raise up on her skin by millions. She shivered and pulled herself away.

Sarah stole a glance at him as they passed underneath a lamppost, he was wearing a black leather jacket with a white t-shirt beneath. It gave him that dangerous vibe, but Sarah was far from afraid, she was intrigued. Foolish? Yes? but he seemed trusting enough, he hadn't done anything out of bounds. However, that didn't mean she couldn't. Sarah bit her lip again, hard this time.

"What street?"

"What?" she glanced up at him, he was looking at her with a hint of amusement in his eyes. She blushed and looked down again.

He lifted her chin "What street?"

"Oh, uhm" she looked around "just make a left here"

"Don't want to tell me, huh, that's alright. Wouldn't want me coming over unannounced" he chuckled.

"You laugh too much, and smile, and you smell too good. I can't focus" Sarah gasped when she realized what she had said. Covering her mouth she threw an embarrassed glance at him "I'm sorry, I don't know where that came from"

Jeremiah smiled "You blush too much, and bite your lips and you smell good. I'm having a rather hard time concentrating myself" he glanced, briefly, at her.

Sarah's breathing stopped, then slowed.

Jeremiah stared at the rise and fall of her full breasts. "You know....." He said slowly "we haven't discussed the means of payment yet"

"Uh-huh," she unconsciously leaned in, eyelids dropping.

"I'm driving Sarah," he said abruptly.

"Uhm, yes of course" she leaned back embarrassed into a seat "you can stop here, it's a short walk from here"

Of course, it wasn't but she couldn't spend another minute with that man.

"Okay" he stopped the car and Sarah literally leaped from it. She could hear him chuckling as she walked away.

She glanced back at him, he was just sitting there. She didn't want him to know where she lived or did she?

Ugh, this man was making her confuse her own-self. Sarah walked to a random person's house and pretending to be fumbling with keys. She glanced again he was still there. WHAT IS HIS PROBLEM? WAS HE STALKING HER? She swallowed a sudden ball of fear and sat down on the love seat on the porch. He was bound to go, sooner or later. Luckily about five minutes after, he drove off.

Sarah dashed down the street to her house. She never wanted to see that man again.

I'm already enjoying the first chapter. Despite some grammatical errors, I really look forward to reading the rest.

I like Sarah's personality. Innocent but not unaware. Keep up the good work, Ellyon. Don't let the grammatical errors stop you, I know it's always the fun buggar. You can always revise the chapters and make it an excellent read. All the Best!
