A great, fresh detective thriller
"I'm going to be completely honest, I came into this story with somewhat low expectations. That changed by the end of the first chapter. The Great Pestilence is sure to be a new favorite thriller to both me and many other fans of the genre. Though the plot appears messy sometimes, and the dialogue is occasionally somewhat corny, I love everything else about the story so far, from the concept of a detective who's more disturbed than the killer he's trying to unmask and the atmosphere of the town of Ystu itself. The dialogue is good and funny, especially how Casey's humorous approach to life and Russek's immaturity both lead to some enlightening humor. The writing, especially the scenes featuring Vyktor Klay himself, are also great. To summarize, I'm definitely hoping to see more of this in the future."

Great, Interesting, and Twisted
"If you stop looking at this book as a mystery and view at as a detective thriller, it's great and really works. The writing is great (sort of reminds of of Joe Nesbo), the dialogue is fun, Casey is a new and interesting character, the plot is fascinating, the grammar is good, and the concept is fresh. Really enjoyed this one. SPeaking as someone who knows the author personally, this is a very impressive work, considering it was written by a 14 year old with ADD. Very nice story so far."
New and creative thriller
"Great book so far. Although the plot CAN be a little messy at times, I'd bear with it if i were you. I'm very confident it will pay out in the end. The plot is good, and it seems to be expanding with every chapter. The author's writing style is also very descriptive and just great overall. I would totally recommend this book. The dialogue between the main characters is also good, and is funny when executed write."
