Zamira.
“Zamira you better get home or your dads gonna go mad.” Alea says and I roll my eyes. My dad was a pain, always wanting me home before sundown, not allowing me to go certain places and never letting me actually be a teenager. For gods sake I was eighteen! But I understand, after mum passed it never really was the same. I guess he is just scared and doesn’t want to lose me.
“Ugh, you’re right, guess I’ll be going then.” I say and frown. I was having fun and really didn’t want to leave my friends.
“Hey! Don’t be sad, tommorow we’re going to Shane’s party remember?” Alea says making Demi, Mattia and Luke nod.
I burst out laughing. “Do you really think my dad, my dad, will let me out that late? You lot are comedians.” I say and internally cry.
“Just lie, say your at mines with Demi studying.” Alea proposes and I nod.
“I’ll see, okay I’ll be in my way then, need to catch the train.” I hug and say my goodbyes to my friends before leaving.
As I was on the train I was thinking about mum. Oh how I missed her. I couldn’t believe it had been three years since she passed. I missed our little girly talks and when she used to take me shopping to cheer me up. Especially when me, her and dad used to sit down every day for dinner and talk. Such a simple memory yet it was my favourite.
As the train comes to a stop I come back to reality and begin walking to my house which luckily was only two minutes. Really helped for when I was late to school well now it would be University. In a few months I’d be leaving for University, and although I was set on Durham which was four hours away I’d probably settle for something in London. I just couldn’t go that far knowing that Dad would be alone.
I reached home and opened the door to have the smell of roast chicken invade my nose. Dad was cooking? On a Thursday evening? That’s odd considering he probably has a ton of work to do.
“Baba! I’m home.” I shout and take my shoes off, walking to the kitchen.
I see dad cooking and he stop to turn and look at me. “Angel! Come here and help your baba.” I laugh and give him a kiss before helping him chop some onions.
“One sec baba let me go and change into something more comfortable.” He nods and I rush upstairs. I take off my clothes and put in a top and some tracksuits, taking my makeup off I wash my face and put my hair into a bun.
I go back into the kitchen and continue to help my dad.
“Baba?” I say.
“Yes.”
“Why are we making so much food if it’s only us, and not to mention it but why are you cooking on a Thursday night?” I say curious as to know waht he’s up to.
He stops and looks at me.
“Well dear, I’m having a friend over, you may remember him, Theo?” I froze as I remembered who my dad was talking about.
Theo Carello.
The most handsome man on earth.
I in fact did remember him. Very well.
“Anyways, he is coming over at eight and I wanted to cook something nice. Also the chickens done and I can take care of everything why don’t you rest and get ready.”
“Ugh baba I just took everything off!” I moaned and he chuckled.
“Angel you know you don’t need to wear makeup or anything fancy, anyways you are beautiful without it.” I smile and give him a kiss on the cheek.
“Okay I’ll go get ready but are you sure you don’t need any help?” I ask and he thinks.
“Oh wait will you be able to bake something sweet! Like a red velvet cake, I’ve been craving my daughters bakes for so long!” He says and I laugh.
“Of course Baba.”
I quickly create a mixture and put it into the oven. Making the frosting I leave it in the fridge to chill.
“Okay baba I’m going upstairs to shower because I have flour everywhere.” He nods and I go to the bathroom.
I thoroughly wash and rinse myself, and once I was squeaky clean I went to my room and dried myself.
For clothing I opted for a simple top and jeans. I didn’t want to over do it but I also didn’t want to look like a tramp. I put on the pink ruffle top and black jeans before sitting down to apply makeup.
Once done I sprayed some perfume and brushed through my hair. “Mira!” I heard my dad and made my way downstairs.
Walking down I see my dad open the door and in came Theo.
He spots me and looks me up and down.
Did I look bad?
God, he was stunning. He looked better than he did the last time I saw him, which if I think about it was four years ago.
“Theo! Son, come in.” My dad ushers him and and I stand at the edge of the staircase as they chat.
They turn to me.
“Well you know Zamira.” Dad says and agin Theo looks at me making me nervous.
“Zamira...you've grown up.” He says curt.
“Well that tends to happen when you age.” I say and look up to his face. I stood at five feet and three inches and he was probably and whole foot and a half taller than me because I was having trouble looking up at him.
“Okay then lets go into the living room and talk. Zamira would you be able to bring us some drinks. What would you like Theo?”
“Bourbon.” He answers, dominant.
“And I’ll have one too.” My dad says.
Nodding I go to the kitchen and find the bourbon. The decanter was all the way at the top shelf and I was having trouble reaching when a figure hovered behind me and grabbed the vessel.
It was Theo. I could tell by his smell. The rich cologne was... enticing.
I turned around to be towered by him.
“Thankyou.” I say and realise my top had rode up. I quickly fixed it and blushed knowing he saw me.
“No problem, I was on the way to the bathroom and happened to notice you struggling.” He says his lip lifting up into a patronising smile.
“Well I would’ve been okay with a stall, but again thankyou.” I say with attitude hoping to win whatever dispute this was.
He nods and backs away leaving the drink on the counter and walking out the kitchen.
I let out a deep breath and poured out the drinks. Taking a sip for myself to clam my nerves. What the hell was wrong with me, why am I so jittery, I needed to calm down. I coughed as the drink burned my throat. No wonder dad did not want me drinking. I took out a strawberry and ate it so my breath smelt fine, Dad would have a fit knowing I had some.
I walk back to the room and give them the drink before sitting down myself.
I distracted myself with my phone as they talked.
Texting Alea I tell her about Theo and she immediately calls me.
My phone ringing alerted my dad and Yheo making me embarrassed.
“Baba I’m just gonna go speak to Alea she needs help with some homework.”
I leave the room and answer the call.
“Alea! You called out of nowhere, you startled everybody in the room.” We both giggle.
“Girl, I don’t care so tell me about Theo is he as hot as he was before?!” Oh Alea she was always one to love gossip.
“Well yeah he’s beautiful but that doesn’t make him any less frigid. I swear that man is like a rock.”
“Oh I bet he is.” Alea says and I head the double meaning and cringed.
“Alea!” I scolded.
“Okay girl keep me updated because I actually have to do homework now remember don’t forget to tell your dad about tomorrow.”
“Oh yeah about that-” Alea cuts me off.
“Nope! No Mira come on we barely hang out anyway and this party is gonna blow! We need to make the lost out this summer before Uni!”
I agreed but my dad was so firm.
“Okay I’ll try. Bye love.”
I hung up and entreated the room just in time for dinner. I helped set up the table and took the cake out to chill. Dad served the food and we all ate.
Well this was fun.
Not.
They continued talking about business and I of course was bored out my mind. I was an English Literature major so maybe if they talked about Bronte I would be interested.
Once we all finished I quickly iced the cake and decorated it before slicing and serving it to Theo and dad.
We sat down and ate the desert and my dad calls me.
“Mira. I would like to talk to you about something.” He says his tone serious.
“Yes Baba?” I was confused.
“So as you know I’ve been working a lot recently and it’s because me and my team are trying to close a deal. Well I have to go on a trip for at least a month.” Dad says.
“What?” I really didn’t want him to go, as much as I would love to have freedom I also didn’t want to be alone.
“Dad, I don’t want to be alone for a month. Can I come?” I ask.
“Unfortunately not, I would be busy all the time and you would be so bored without your friends.”
“However. I brought Theo here today for a reason, and the reason is that he will be staying with you until I come back.” My dad says and my eyes widen.
“Excuse me?”

Hey loves.
This is my new book called Forbidden Amore.
It’s about Zamira and Theo who have this tensed chemistry as their relationship is strictly forbidden. This is because Theo is a good friend to Zamira’s dad. But they do say love always finds a way? Right?
