Fate.

Maya hated the stares she'd get when she walked down the street of her hometown. She assumed it was because of her traitor father who tried to assassinate the alpha instead of doing the honourable thing and challenge him directly. Everyone including maya knew her father would never win, he was weak and a coward even she knew that. She never liked her father, to her he was selfish and evil. He had marked her mother out of jealousy when she had found her mate before they could get married. Rules were rules so no one else could touch her mother except her father, she tried making the best of it by trying to start a family with him hoping she would grow to love him. They had grown up best friends, but it all changed after they had maya. Her father became abusive which drove her mother into a deep depression she tried to fight it so she could give her daughter, her pride and joy, the life she deserved. She lost the fight when maya turned 16. Her finale dying wish was for maya to be sent to live with her grandparents and she was. All because her father, in his sick twisted grief, tried to kill alpha Jacob before he could decide maya's fate. her father was sentenced to death for treason, maya felt nothing towards the decision, she only felt grief for her mother and forever grateful to the alpha for finally getting rid of the wicked man who she saw took her mother from her.

Shortly after they had passed, whilst she was sorting through their possessions she had gotten a letter from the pack house. Alpha Jacob was offering her a job in the pack house and would rent her a small flat in the town. Maya didnt understand why the alpha was being so generous but she knew better than to deny such an amazing gift. Alpha or not.

PARIS IN THE DARK

Hester: Very good, was short too the point , not lingering on the abuse, pity you didn’t let him step in earlier knowing the abuse was happening, but this is almost real for some women who have gone through it, just wish they could all have a princess at te end of thete tunnel

Ashley: I enjoyed the story. It was a short one so the fast pace fit. I think something should be put in to show a time jump between paragraphs like a "****" just to make it easier to follow when we skip to the next day week or month. Over all a good read.
