"In his time Dickens often published his novels chapter by chapter in a popular newspaper. Those chapters didn’t get published every day. They often ended on a cliffhanger or a gasp. This novel is the same,making the reader race through each chapter as it’s written and being left gasping at the end. It would need to be good to keep so many hanging on. And,of course, it is. Excellent. "
