The Bear Man
A father and daughter go on a hunting trip for the day when something unexpected occurs...*
“Alright honey are you ready to go?” A little girl around nine years of age comes downstairs and she has hunting clothes on.
“I’m ready dad! I’m so excited! I’m going to kill my first bear.”
“That’s the spirit sweetie.”
“Are you gonna let me shoot on my own this time dad?”
“It depends how big it is sometimes the bigger it is it’s harder to kill.”
“Okay, dad.”
“Maybe someday I’ll let you shoot on on your own.” They both then back their stuff in the car and head out for the hunt. While driving down the road the father’s daughter begins falling asleep.
“Tired already? We haven’t even begun hunting yet. Stay awake keep me company we have a bit of a drive ahead of us.”
“Okay, dad.” As they were heading to their hunting spot the father then sees a doctor just laying on the side of the road.
“Oh my God!” The father then pulls on the side of the road.
“Dad, what’s wrong with him?”
“Idk I’m gonna see if he’s okay. Stay here.”
“Be a careful dad.” The father gets out to check on the doctor to see if he needed any help.
“Hey... Hey, are you okay?” The doctor opened his eyes.
“Where... Where am I?”
“I found you laying on the side of the road.”
“I don’t remember what happened to me. I was in my lab last night doing experiments and all of a sudden everything went dark.” The doctor explained.
“Let me call you an ambulance for you.”
“No don’t call an ambulance I’m fine.”
“Are you sure because you don’t look good?”
“No, I’m fine.”
“Do you want me to take you back to town?”
“No, I’m just gonna call a taxi.”
“Alright be safe I guess?”
“You too.” The father gets back into his car and drives off.
“Is he okay dad?”
“Yeah, he is fine.”
“Are you sure? He didn’t look alright.”
“He didn’t tell me much but I’m hoping he will be alright.” The father explained to his daughter. After a while, the father pulls his vehicle into a dirt pathway.
“We are here.”
“It’s getting late.”
“Thankfully, I brought our tent so we can spend the night out here then in the morning we can hunt.”
“That’ll be okay for me.”
“Great!” The father and daughter gathered their things and begun hiking to a good spot to set up their tent. After a while, they arrived at a huge field surrounded by woods.
“You like this spot sweetheart?”
“This will be fine.”
“I’m glad you think so. You want to help me sit up the tent?”
“Yes, dad.”
“Great.” They begun to unpack their tent and begun sitting it up they failed a couple of times but in the end, they finally got it up.
“That was hard.”
“You thought that was hard? Just imagine doing it yourself then you’ll really be saying that.”
“Let’s make a campfire I’ll gather the sticks. You stay here and I’ll be right back.”
“Be careful if something happens just shout.”
“I’ll be fine dad.” The daughter then walks off into the woods and begins gathering sticks and she hears animals in all directions suddenly everything got quiet for a moment and suddenly she could hear something loud running through the woods she begun running back to camp with the sticks in her hand.
“Dad, Dad, Dad!” The father was beside the tent and could see his daughter running to him like the flash.
“What’s wrong?”
“Something was running towards me.”
“did you see it?”
“No, I just heard it coming.”
“It must have been a deer let’s make a fire and settle in for tonight and hunt in the morning.”
“Alright.” All of a sudden they both hear a loud noise.
ROARR...
“What was that dad?”
“It sounded like a bear. Go inside the tent, honey.”
The daughter then gets in the tent as her father grabbed his gun and had his finger on the trigger. He was ready whatever was out there.
“Okay, whatever you are show yourself right now.” The creature then appears from out of the woods. While the father now realizing that it is a bear. But it is a bear he never saw before in his life
“What in the world are you?” The bear then charged at him. The father shoots at the bear.
Bam...Bam...
But it misses and the bear is now up top of him.
“Oh God, I don’t want to go like this.” The father is on the ground and looks at his daughter seeing her about to pick up his gun and about to shoot the bear. She finally pulls the trigger a couple of times while her dad was now proud to see his daughter trying to kill her first bear all by herself. “That’s my girl! He cheered.
But out of nowhere, the bear starts to approach his daughter. As the bear is going towards his daughter the father pulls out his knife. He then jumps on top of the bear and stabs it to death.
“Dad you killed it.”
“Yeah, I did sweetie. I didn’t want it to hurt you.” The two then hugged each other as the daughter then noticed that there was something going on with the bear.
“Dad look.” The bear was transforming into a human and that human turns out to be the doctor that the father was talking to earlier.
“Dad that was the man you where talking to earlier.”
“Yes. Yes, it is.” The father and his daughter are in shock as they both decide to pack up and go back home. Leaving the body of the deceased doctor who had the ability to turn into a bear in the woods.
