Chapter 1
What I am about to share with you is a tale in my past that involves one special girl. And like any other tale, this girl never had any interest in me…Only a few fake modifications. Enough spoilers…Let us start at the beginning.
The sound of train wheels moving hit my ears then my eyes shot open. I scanned my surrounding and saw mortals. Somehow, I could infer that…I mean, it is just too obvious. Meaning no offence, dear reader, but your blood has a powerful not so pleasant stench. Trying my best to be euphemistic…Anyways, let’s get to the good stuff.
After a couple of minutes, say fifteen, could be more, the train slowed down to a halt at Chatsworth station…At least that is what it said on the bill board ahead. The mortals…Oops…Sorry…The people alighted the train.
Once everyone was out, I rose from my seat. Suddenly, there was a loud ringing in my head. I must have screamed which was quite feministic of me, meaning no offence to women, as the train began moving.
‘No! No! No!’
The train was on the move and I was not yet out. I had to fight the ringing or else I would end up in a place that wasn't Chatsworth Station. So, the only thing in mind was to jump.
And so I jumped through the window and landed on my back upon the station floor with all mortal eyes staring at a humiliated me.
I hastily rose from the floor instinctively brushing off the dirt from my clothes. It was at that moment that I realized I was dressed in blue skinny jeans and a sweat shirt.
What poor taste!
I did not remember dressing in such clothes
I didn’t even remember where I was from. That was weird.
On my right, there were four men approaching dressed in blue matching clothes. They must have been the authority figure, I thought. Believing that I was innocent, I stood my ground. When they were a few feet away from me, a hand grabbed my right arm muscle.
“Don’t be stupid, kid,” said a white man in his mid-thirties, “Come with me.”
He didn’t even finish talking…Just ran off with me.
Where I was being dragged to? I had no idea.
He reached a Mercedes Benz, opened the back door and cast me on the back seat.
“Lie on the leather! Lie on the leather!”
I followed his command.
He sat at the driver’s seat, turned the ignition key and drove off. The ringing returned once again. This time it was worse but at least I groaned. The man at the front turned to look at me.
His eyes were gold yellow which literally glittered. His nose thin and long. The lips also had the same yellow glitter as his eyes.
I found the man really handsome, which was quite uncanny given I was in pain.
“I told Zeus to delay the process but he won’t listen,” he said.
Did he just say Zeus? The god of the skies?
“What are you talking about?” I asked with my hands against my temples.
The man faced ahead.
The car stopped then I was pulled out.
For a handsome guy, this man was indeed aggressive. It was like he had a specific hate towards me which made me feel like I knew him.
“Do I know you?” I asked.
“I have no time for explanation,” he said as I tried to balance my body on solid ground.
Holding my hand, basically dragging me once again, he walked towards the door of what looked like a mansion.
He rang the doorbell. It opened to reveal a couple…Well, at least they seemed like it since the man held the lady’s waist with her right arm.
“I have brought you the boy,” the handsome guy said, “Take good care of him.”
He glanced at me, “After all, he is the destined savior of the universe.”
I walk towards the couple, then I turn to face the handsome guy.
“Do take care, Blevin Shakestorm,”Mister Handsome said, “I will always be watching.”
“We will take good care of him,” the man with the lady said, “He is after all our son”
“I almost forgot,” the handsome guy said fishing into his coat pocket, “Courtesy of…um…someone somewhere.”
He throws a circular object to me which I catch with my right hand. I discover it is a ring.
“That will prevent the ringing, kid,” the handsome guy said.
A ring that prevents ringing, I thought, quite catchy
“What should I call you?” I asked curious.
The handsome guy smiled. All of a sudden, the birds in the sky and the trees froze.
“I am the god of Love, Blevin,” he said, “Eros…and the ring will not only control the ringing of your head but it will also guide you to artifacts you need to study to reach your full potential.”
Everything unfroze.
“Call me Michael, kid,” Eros said, “Adios.”
He turned and walked away.
The couple turned with me between them, the door shut and they lead me towards what seemed to be paradise.
