The Invitation
In my second year at Crestview High school. I am Alyssa Crooks, I am a bookworm, a straight-A student, but also socially awkward. The Playboy, Justin Carter, and his friends walking around school flirting with every girl that falls at their feet. Which is most of them.
I turn around to see Justin holding the book above his head. I reach for it but it doesn’t help that he’s 6′4 and I’m 5′3.
“What do you want Justin?” I ask wanting to know what he needs me for, “It’s a good book to read. I’ve read it, honestly not bad.” he says reading the cover of the book. ” Wow, you read books without pictures? Congrats.” I say letting my sarcasm get the best of me.
“Good one, Alyssa. What are you doing tonight?“. I hesitate to answer, “Um well I didn’t plan anything bu-“. “Good,” he cuts me off ” your coming to the football game and then staying at my house.”. He looks at me like he wants seal of approval. “Okay, by the way, I can be a flirt too.” I kiss him on the cheek and run off down the hall. I feel the confused but sly glare coming from him.
-Before the Football game-
“Girl, come on you need to go, Here!” my best friend, Clair says tossing a homemade Eagle crop top and some short cut off jeans in my direction.
"Alyssa! Someone's here!" my mom calls from downstairs, I walk downstairs to see Justin Carter in my living room.
"What are you doing here," I questioned as his head snapped in towards me, "I thought you were supposed to be with the team?". His response made me blush.
"Wow. You look...hot, can't I just pick up my amazingly beautiful personal cheerleader?" he adds watching me walk down the stairs "And yes, I am supposed to be with the guys but I had more important things to do."
"Like?"
"You, Of course"
I was shocked, I could feel the blush rising across my face, I turned to Clair who followed me down the stairs.
"Oooooh," she said with a 'am I interrupting' look. I began to giggle earning an adoring look from Justin.
