He is my best friend since anyone knows when. We are now 19, about to head onto college. He is tall with dirty blonde hair an hazel eyes He is aloo very tan and sweet. We grew up together on eagles lane. His dad built a treehouse in their backyard and we would spend almost every minute in that house. We did everything together. In highs cool, he was the captain of both swimming and football team. I was the captain of the Cross Country's team. We had a wonderful childhood together and are going to go t the same college. West Side High... West Side High for athletes. Will he shut me out? Will he get a girlfriend and totally forget about me?
Tomorrow, we will leave for Florida, where West Side High is located. He is going to drive the both o us down there: Tomorrow, the day that will change my life forever. I lay in my bed and picked up my phone. No text message or alerts.
"Heyyyy, Jeremy" I typed. My mom walks into my room with my passports and papers to get into the school and to fly home for visits. "Mom." I said. "Why did we pick a collage so far away?"
" Sweetie." said my mom with her calming voice that she used towards me my whole life. She sits down next to me in a green room filled with posters, books, art supplies, and a music station with my guitar and panino and other instruments I have picked up through the years. " You and Jeremy chose it because he wanted to stay with you where ever you wanted to go to college. " "You also chose it because it was the best Cross Country school in the U.S.A" Yeah she was right. I will be ok. I will have Jeremy.
" Thanks mom." I said. I gave her a big hug. When we pulled away, she had tears in her eyes and running down her face. "Mom." I said with the voice see used toward me, the mothering voice. She just looked at me and got up and walked out. I just sat there, stunned on what had just happened. My mom was upset that I was leaving. All kids have to leave and will leave their parents at some point in their life. Th sound of a text message brought be back to present time.
" Heyyyy, what is up?" the messages reads.
"Nothing much, just nervous for tomorrow but also very excited for tomorrow as well."
"Nervous ? Come on. I have never known Tris Alexander to be nervous. We will be together. No reason to be nervous ,Tris."
" You are not nervous, Jere?"
" No, not one bit. I have you with me." There was a long pause before he texted me again. "Tris, we better go to bed. We have got to get up early tomorrow. See ya then."
"See ya then Jere." How can he be so calm about this. I do not understand. I could not fall asleep. I picked up my phone and got onto Instagram. there was this guy who watched every time I went live and we started to talk a while back. He seems pretty chill and nice I sent him a message.
