Imagination and mysterious
"This is an incredible book. It was very difficult to put down. The characters were so intricate but genuine. I have never read anything like this previously. I would love to see it made into a movie!! It took a special skill to describe the characters and the surroundings of the different stages of Yuri/Zander’s journey. The imagery described so clearly you could clearly picture them and their surroundings as well as each journey. Beautiful story. Beautiful lessons taught. Now I am going to start his other book, Forbidden Steps. "
The Mirror - Paused
"My background is Science Fiction. I have penned a few juvenile stories, read a great many stories and seen both Sci Fi series and movies of many genres. "From A Distant" mirror opens with mystery. The narrator/man character gives us his impression of disbelief and familiarity. It compels me to read more and more and more about this character to find out what the Hell is going on here. Yes, adult language and situations do occur in this story as well. Once the reader solves the mystery, a whole new chapter opens up about this character what to do next. As I was reading this point in the story about fighting for the right to be free and who one can be, that a surprise ending occurs. Another unexpected event I did not see coming. This novel is good and imaginative. The science behind both the ships, medical technology, and weaponry is consistent with one would expect from a science fiction story. As one could observe, I did not mention the characters names etc, just generalities. I finished reading the story in Feb 2023, and I admit I do not recall the names of the characters. The story is what counts about the characters, their feelings, how this novel pulls me into it to be part of this world, and want to know more and more what is happening. But as the saying all good things come to an end, and there are some minor criticism with the novel. I would want more description of where we were in this new world, the weapons, giving me a tapestry of vivid imaginings. Should you pick up to read "From A Distant Mirror" ? The answer is a resounding YES !"
From A Distant Mirror
"A pleasure to read, From A Distant Mirror drew me in from the first page, and easily held my interest to the last. It would appeal to a wide range of people. The well constructed characters were perfectly crafted for each phase of the story. Upon completion of the book, I actually missed them, especially Yuri. He exemplified strength, perseverance, wisdom, loyalty, love, and high morality. A lot of thought and research went into the entire book, making it easier to envision in my mind. It could be made into a great movie. Written by multi-talented author, Ed Rambeau, this book wont let you down, including the epilogue. I highly recommend! "

The storyline was a work of art...coming from the mind of a very imaginative author! I loved the characters and was rooting for all of them! Such difficult decisions that had to be made! Even though this book was out of the realm of my normal reading choice, I was SO glad I decided to read it! What a great movie this would make! Creative Science Fiction Deserving a Screenplay
"This review has been a long time coming... I finished the book a while back and much of it has stayed with me over the months. That's a sign of good writing and a good story! This isn't the first book Ed Rambeau has written but it's the first of his I've read. I was hooked after the first few chapters... A real page turner. When I discovered Yuri was an alien my thoughts were those of fascination and intrigue... I can't help but compare this to the kind of serialization we saw in the great pulps of the 1940s & 1950s - the Science Fiction Fantasy magazines like Amazing Stories or Fantastic Adventures with each chapter a cliffhanger to the next. Ed's writing is breezy, with lighthearted dialogue that keeps a smile on your face, but make no mistake - the message here is thought provoking & profound. An otherworldly adventure with all the ingredients swirling together in most creative ways. I'd really like to see an up-and-coming television screenwriter like Krysty Wilson-Carnes or Jamie Mathieson pitch From A Distant Mirror as a two hour made-for-TV movie."
Thoughtful and suspenseful at the same time!
"What an incredible story! I really enjoyed it! I was scared at first...so many uneasy things, like the cloth over the face at the beginning. The love stories, the first wife, the parents, the ladies, the son......it describes how the human heart can encompass so many different kinds of love. The part where Cyann is killed shocked me out of my ecstasy of the two finding each other right at the moment, then the whole direction changes.....life can be like that, but boy I am glad it isn't so extreme for everyone!!! What you say in the epilog is about what i was thinking about the author.......he shares the ideals in his heart, and the gentle spirit inside. Makes a good story. And the incredible, ineffable goodness of God makes human imagination possible. We are made in His image!"
Ed's From A Distant Mirror
"Ed 's book combines a tableaux of Americana with futuristic scenarios with interesting results. He also includes big ideas about consciousness and "why we're here" which I find very cool as it adds a higher dimension to the plot. He's so talented ! Ed already had a successful musical career, charting with a hit song...we worked together in the rock musical"HAiR" on Broadway and am happy we are friends again ! I recommend it highly! Debb NYC"
A fantastic futuristic novel
"From the beginning of the novel, I enjoyed reading about the main character (Yuri) through all the changes and challenges he faced along his life journey. The locations in the novel are real places on Earth and made me want to visit them to see them in person...and maybe drink some 7Up there. As the novel develops and Yuri makes discoveries about his identity and fulfills his destiny, the novel becomes even more addictive. I couldn't wait to continue to the next chapter. There are surprises along the way that takes the plot in an entirely unexpected direction. There are sad moments, but they are balanced. The ending chapters will surprise the reader and the ultimate resolution is worthy of the characters I learned to love. Along the way, the author invents many amazing technologies (not unlike Jules Verne) that I hope come to pass. In closing, I would like to say that this is an amazing novel that is written in one of my favorite genres (science fiction). I would really love to see this novel as a film and I hope some producer somewhere has the foresight to film this great sci-fi story. Bravo to the author."

From A Distant Mirror
" With good fortune I've had the opportunity to read "From A Distant Mirror." I was grateful for the fact that it held my undivided attention from start finish. In fact, I found it so enthralling that I had a hard time putting it down for the night. One of those rare literary gifts that come along in a reader's life. Multifarious in it's usage of different unique subject matters. It's definitely worth mentioning the highs and lows of human emotions that made for a more heartfelt, compelling novel. Chapter 40 hit home and was quite profound. This reader was drawn to tears. The Epilogue was brilliant and second to none. The entire novel flows with fluidity. I have nothing but reverence for the Author and applaud him for his fine literary achievement. "
From A Distant Mirror
"This is a compelling story with a few twists and turns to add adventure and excitement. There were also happy moments and sad moments. I was touched when Yuri was so determined to find his son that he hadn't seen since his son was a baby. The story parallel's "Lost Horizon" and "2001 A Space Odyssey". Ed Rambeau had a keen imagination to keep me in awe."
What a fun read!!
"Utterly enjoyable, imaginative and inspired! Profound, to boot! "although we differ physically, we are all equal internally. It is ultimately our character that gives us the right to become united with the Universal Mind."☼ ☽ ★ ☆💕"
