Chapter 1

Smack, Smack, Smack! One of the robbers hits Hassan as the other one wakes his wife up to a; big ass chrome 45 in her beautiful face. “Yell, Yell, Yell” Kamela starts screaming as she sees two gunmen in her bedroom.

“Bitch shut the fuck up, that is going to only make me kill both y’all now I’m going to ask, you both two questions the truth will set you free, but lie and you die now. Question one, where is the money and Question 2, where is the drugs you only got one chance to tell the truth before my gun starts talking and he doesn’t give a fuck about no answers” says the lead gunman.

Thinking of his son Clever in the other room and his wife Kamela, Hassan says “there is $100,000 under the dog house in the back yard that’s all I have in the house, I don’t keep drugs here I got a stash house, I can take you to get 7 birds (kilos of Cocaine) just don’t kill her” Haz said trying to buy the time to come up with a way to save their lives; they came masked up so he knew they had a chance.

“Okay good job tie both they asses up and go check the dog house, the lead gunman said to his partner (Rock)

“But what about the dog” Rock said.

“I don’t give a fuck shoot the motherfucker if you have to just go get the money, today payday I worked hard all week,” (laugh).

While the robbers tied up Hassan and Kamela. Hassan’s brain was working overtime trying to figure out where this hit was coming from one gunmen’s voice sounded familiar but he couldn’t place it and he always switched cars, halfway to his house to lose any tails.

His 10 year old son Clever was in his room. He was a Muslim man but had not been on his deem in a while but right now he was praying Allah would keep his son and wife safe. He wasn’t afraid to die in the streets that came with the territory, that’s not to say he was ready to die either, but he would not beg for his life he would welcome it like the signs saying welcome to New Jersey after many trips back and forth on the I95.

Clever had been awake when he heard the screams of his mother. He knew something wasn’t right but he didn’t know what it was, he was too scared to go and make any attempt to find out what was going on. Plus he thought what could he do that his father couldn’t, then came the screams again he knew it was his mother and she had to be hurting badly to be screaming that loud at this time of night. He had to go see what was going on maybe he could help or maybe his father was hurt and his mother needed his help and that was why she was screaming.

As Clever got out of his bed he made sure to be very quiet the way his mother had showed him on their practice emergency drills.

He could hear her saying it, as if she was saying it right this moment, be very quiet make sure you stay quiet. First go downstairs and check the cameras in the basement, if you can make it to them. If there is a fire get out the house and call 911 if there is anything else, find me or your father but if your father and I are getting hurt call Uncle.

I never understood why she said call Uncle instead of the Police but I knew we lived a good life, better then all my friends plus I never saw my father get dressed like my friends father’s I know he didn’t work, so I just said okay.

Now as he got out of bed he ran to his bedroom door cracked it open as it creaked he grew more nervous, then peaked into the hallway he saw nothing. It was clear so he ran into the kitchen didn’t hear the dog outside barking which was strange, because the dog would bark at the moon all night but he shrugged it off opened the door and went into the basement.

Before going down the stairs he made sure to listen he heard nothing so he proceeded to cut the lights on and close the door behind him, he was extra careful to be quiet thinking of his mother.

As he walked down the stairs he heard 3 loud bangs which made him jump, he didn’t know what had just happened but it didn’t sound good. As he got to the bottom of the stairs he made a right into his dad’s office and then froze once he saw what was on the screen of the video camera monitors his father had installed all around the house.

There was blood everywhere in his parents room his mother and father were both tied up and bleeding badly, he was about to start crying but heard his father’s voice in his head. Man up we need you then he remembered to call Uncle he was about to run up the stairs to get the phone when he saw the two masked men on the screen running to the car outside.

The smell of smoke brought him back to reality, he ran up the stairs grabbed the phone and dialed Uncle’s number and told him what happened.

“Lil man get out of the house go to a neighbor’s house, I’m call the Fire Department I’m on my way. Uncle Said”

Uncle jumped out of bed as he heard the news, Clever his nephew was giving him he told Gina his wife what was going on and hurriedly got dressed and ran out of the house headed to his brother’s house. On the way to the car he called his right hand man Night and informed him of what was going down, Night told him he would meet him at Haz’s house but Uncle told him not to there would be too many Police there.

“Just put your ear to the streets and see what we can come up with about who did this. If my brother don’t make it there’s going to be hell to pay on the streets of Newark.” Uncle said.
