“Welcome! Welcome to another year

at Hogwarts!”- said Professor Dumbledore standing up, with all the attention of the students to him.- “Now, I’d like to say a few words before we all become too befuddled by our excellent feast.

First, I’m pleased to welcome Professor R.J. Lupin who’s kindly consented to fill the post of Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher.

Good luck, professor.

Our Care of Magical Creatures teacher has decided to retire to spend more time with his remaining limbs. Fortunately, I’m delighted to announce that his place will be taken by none other than our own Rubeus Hagrid.”- a small amount of applause ran through the hall.-“ Finally, on a more disquieting note at the request of the Ministry of Magic Hogwarts will, until further notice, play host to the dementors of Azkaban until Sirius Black is captured.

The dementors will be stationed at every entrance to the grounds.

Now whilst I’ve been assured that their presence will not disrupt our day-to-day activities a word of caution.

Dementors are vicious creatures.

They’ll not distinguish between the one they hunt

and the one who gets in their way. Therefore, I must warn

every one of you to give them no reason to harm you. It is not like a dementor to be forgiving.

But you know, happiness can be found

even in the darkest of times if one only remembers to turn on the light.

I think that now everything is said we can start the fest.—”

The door that leads inside the hall opened loudly, causing everyone to turn. For some seconds the Great Hall fell silent and then, got filled with loud whispers on every table, including the teachers.

A figure in a long black cloak that covered its face appeared in the door. The Great Hall was never that silent. Even the lazy fly in the corner of the Hall seemed to get quarter as if also staring at the newcomer in surprise.

The restrained silence was bracken by the steps of the dark figure that was walking at a slow, leisurely pace. It was heading towards Dumbledore, who, unlike the student and staff, was standing with a welcoming and excited smile.

When the stranger started walking pas the house tables, an intense, nearly roaring wisher exploded everywhere.

“I am pretty sure it is not the first year, way too tall for one of them, and I don’t reckon she or he is a teacher, all the staff is present.”— said Hermione looking after the mysterious guest.

“I can’t tell, I can’t see the face because of that stupid hooded robe!”—snapped back Harry peering over the heads of the other students.

“Never seen this person before.”— said Goyle sitting at the other side of the Great Hall at the Slytherin table.

“Who is it?”—asked Crabbe with a confused expression on his gorilla-like face.

“We will wait and see.”— said Draco Malfoy following the person with his ice-blue eyes.

The figure stopped and whispered something into Dumbledore’s ear, then turned around to face the students, with the hood still covering its face. Dumbledore made a little cough and the Hogwarts students fell silent once again.

“Dear students and teachers, I am happy to introduce you to this student, that for many privet reasons couldn’t join Hogwarts in the same year as her peers.” Everyone looked at Dumbledore with an interested and confused expression.-“This person will be attending classes in the third year.” You could hear excited whispers and gasps from all the house tables. Dumbledore made his polite cough once again and the attention of the students was all at the headmaster once again.-“This is miss Sapphire Samantha Black.” He said smiling and took a step aside. The girl took the hood off and the Hall erupted with gasps.

And there was a reason for it. The girl was stunningly beautiful. Sapphire was not a very tall but very attractive girl. Her charming beauty could melt any heart. She had dirty brown thick medium length hair and soft facial features. When you looked into her sincere grey-blue eyes shining like sapphires, and you started feeling immediately in love.

After giving the students some minutes to observe the girl, Dumbledore added.— “Mr. Filch will bring the sorting hat back in, and see which house miss Black will be in.”

Sapphire tried to look calm but she felt dizziness and her mouth was dry.

She made eye contact with platinum blond hair boy, pale, pointed sneering face and icy-gray eyes with a smirk on his face.

Filch entered into the Great Hall with an old hat in his hands. Professor McGonagall made a swish with her wand and a chair appeared. Sapphire sat on the chair and Professor McGonagall placed the sorting hat on her head, and instantly and loudly, it started talking: “Hmmm.... very interesting.... didn’t have a rough choice like this in years!” The hat said to everybody’s attention.-“ hard-working, patient, and loyal and very smart. You are brave and reckless but also cunning and a strong leader. Hard, really hard indeed...” Sapphire started getting anxious and so were the other students.- “I guess you’re a Gryffindor!!!” There was loud applause from the Gryffindors.-“Weight a second... I see I see something important, very important.” Sapphire’s heart rate started racing, “You must be a Slytherin!!!”- the hat announced. Now the applause came from the other side of the Hall. She looked at the Slytherin table and went towards it. The blond boy maid a small nod to come over and sit next to him. Sapphire gave him a challenging look and decided to come over. She didn’t know anyone so decided to accept the invitation.

“Hi, I’m Malfoy, Draco Malfoy. This is Crabbe and Goyle.”— the boy said with a stretched-out hand.

“Hey, I’m Black, Sapphire Black.”— Sapphire said shaking his hand.

Draco looked around the Great Hall with a smirk of a winner on his face. While eating you saw many people were watching her with interest. She tried not to pay attention to it, it wasn’t in her nature to show weakness.

“So,” Draco said casually.— “why didn’t you start school the same year as us.” Not only he was interested in the answer but also the Slytherins that were sitting closer to Sapphire started listening to there conversation interested. “Not your problem.” — Sapphire snapped.

It was time to go to the dormitories. “Good night Sapphire.”— said Draco looking at her from the stairs to the boy’s dormitory. “Good night.”—sapphire said smiling.
