Chapter 1
I grew up as daddy’s little girl, I had everything I wanted and for a moment I was living a fairy tale life until my mom passed away. I was just 13 when my mom died of cancer. Her dead struck us all really hard me, my brother Ali but most of all, my dad. Mom didn’t have any siblings, and her parents passed away and my dad’s family are far away from us. My dad got into depression, it was like we never existed, he always locks himself up in his room, even when he did came out he barely spared us a glance. Ali takes care of me, he cooks, help with my laundry, clean the house, takes me out shopping stayed with me all night when the nightmares come. In those nightmare I keep on dreaming of the day when our house was on fire my brother shouting my name my mom and dad running behind him when he reached my door he fell down screaming my mom crying holding up to him my dad still trying to reach me and then the ceiling collapses on them and there nothing I can do but just sit there and scream, shout out for help and then I wake up tears streaming down my face my brother trying to calm me down and tell me everything’s going to be okay. My brother is my best friend he’s my rock he is that shoulder I need to lean on and cry. The once bright house turned dark and moody.
After a while my dad got better and started to pay us attention although we were still weary of him we both decided to give him a chance. Ali just finished high school and went abroad to continue his studies. I miss my brother.
My dad eventually got married to Sarah she was cool and nice and I really liked her and later gave birth to my baby sister.
My dad won the election as a prime minister. We were all thrilled but being someone that big you’ve got to change and well as my position as the prime minister daughter had consequences. At first I thought it was cool the fame the money the power but after a while it all lost it’s appeal.
My dad and his wife were all caught up in the money and fame, to them richness was their happiness all they could ever want, true I got expensive stuffs but that wasn’t what I want, I needed real love I neded their support some affection to once again be daddy’s little girl. Maybe they were blind to my needs or maybe they just turned a blind eye on it whatever their reason was it hurt I’ve never felt so lonely. I called my brother and talked to him and it felt better an she went on telling me about this girl he met and his friends I am happy for him but can’t help but envy his life .
The people, the cameras, the insults, being someone am not but who my dad and society wants me to be it all hurt, it hurt to put on that fake smile and pretend, pretend I love those expensive gifts, laugh at those insult it all got to me no matter how far I run it gets to me .
