Way Down We Go

The sun rose from behind the cliffs in the valley. The skies were pink. Over night, posters were put up around the town. The sentence: "The valley is now occupied by the USCPF and the CDF." was written on them all. This didn't mean the biomass was gone. And this didn't mean that the mutants were gone. It just meant the SLF had either allied with the USCPF or had been pushed out of the valley. Over the years, civilisation had been developing again. Many cities were taken back by the remnants of the US government.

But that's not what this story is about. This story explains what would have happened if Wade didn't 'die', in other words, if he didn't wake up. Spoilers! He will wake up again at the end of this story, but, he doesn't need to die in his nightmare to wake up. He just needs to be shocked or angered enough to put him back to reality. But for the purpose of the story making sense, I shall make my sentences so that it sounds like the Flash DID happen. Ok, so, where was I? Ah, yeah.

So these posters appeared around the town. The people of Cliffguard immediately began to respond with smiles and they seemed genuinely happy. Wade decided to go hunting for mutants, since every RAD was nearly extinct. So he did. But with the gang, of course.

Once the outsiders arrived in Boulder Cove, the mutants almost instantly began to pour out of their settlements.

"You don't belong here." "What're you doing here?" "Scram, humans!"

Mixed replies came from the mutants. They knew what was bound to happen next. The mutants all had crossbows and rifles aimed at the group. A large group of Coyote remnants also arrived. The old Coyote leader was amongst the remnants, although they all bossed each other around now. The leader had a helmet now, with scratches etched into it, signifying how many mutants he killed during the attack on Craterview. The skull that was originally on his shoulder was now gone. It was replaced with a spike or two. His gloves were wrapped in barbed wire. The 3 groups of misfits all aimed at each other, like one of those old western movies where one guy aimed at the guy who was aiming at a guy who was aiming at the original guy. Yeah, like that.

The mutants turned to the Coyotes. The Coyotes fired. The mutants began to die to the gun fire. A few dived into cover. Wade's gang tried to run. Hondrr was shot in the back by a mutant. The bullet flung straight through his shoulder blade to the top of his chest. Hondrr fell. The mutant fired again. Hondrr dived out of the way of the bullet. Hondrr stood and ran. One of the Coyotes had a needle with a grey liquid inside it. He ran up to Wade and jabbed it into his neck. The liquid was pushed into his blood stream. It was a strain of RAD. He would still be human, he just had the abilities of a RAD and he could now live about 97 years more. Wade stabbed the Coyote and kicked him away. The Coyote wanted to see Wade fall on the floor and die, but nothing happened. The gang ran away as the brawl between the mutants and the Coyotes raged on.

The leader of the Coyotes pursued on a dirt bike. The gang had brought an old dune buggy with them, so they were going at the same speed as the bike. The Coyote leader now called himself Bloodseeker.

Bloodseeker fired at the gang but missed. Wade was strapped to the back so he could kill anyone who chased, or warn the others about them. Wade began to fire back. He hit where the oil cartridge was hidden on the bike. The bike set on fire. It flung forward into the sand and landed infront of the dune buggy. Bloodseeker jumped up. The bike ripped into pieces on the impact between it on the buggy due to it being a model made in 2023. Wade's prosthetics would also shred if they were hit by the buggy, they were the 2026 model.

Bloodseeker was hit by the bar on top of the buggy. He unrealistically grabbed the bar and hung on. The buggy flung over a dune and dragged itself away from the direction of Cliffguard. Wade unwrapped himself and held onto a bar. He started to swing a knife at Bloodseeker. He cut the remnant Coyote's leg wide open. The buggy hit a stone and slid left. It rolled forward and towards a mesa.

Wade went to swing his knife, but it fell out of his grip. It floated away into the desert. Wade took out his gun and aimed. He bolted it. Bloodseeker went to knife Wade, but his knife suffered the same fate as Wade's. Wade fired his gun. The bullet hit the helmet. The buggy threw itself into the air. Wade looked down to see what had happened. They had just drove into the Great Crater. Wade panicked. He reloaded his gun with his free hand. Bloodseeker took out his. It was already loaded and bolted. He fired at Wade. The bullet dug into Wade's shoulder. Bloodseeker dropped his gun once the buggy drove straight out of the crater. The dune buggy rolled back onto a road. It rapidly approached Cliffguard. Bloodseeker took out his cleaver. He swinged at Wade. It sliced through the top of his only fleshy leg, cutting it off. Wade yelled out in pain. Bloodseeker fell off of the buggy.

The buggy pulled up outside of Cliffguard and the gang dragged Wade into the Den.

They once again attached a prosthetic to his stump, and he was fine.
