Chapter one

My peaceful sleep is disturbed by the chirping of birds - not in real life, but in my alarm's tune.

I sleep for another thirty minutes after snoozing my alarm for the hundredth time.

This time it wasn't my alarm that actually woke me up, it was my mother.

After brushing my teeth, I get ready for the shower. I was in the bathroom for about a few minutes when my darling mother started to bang on the door.

'If you don't come out in another-' she starts to shout when I interrupt ' Stop banging on that freaking door!'

'Can you stop arguing and hurry up?' she shouts again, still banging on the door.

I plan to ignore or else she would never stop.

When I hear her footsteps fade away, I turn on the shower. The boiling water starts to pour on the floor and I step in.

And just in a click of moment, all my tension seems to disappear as the drops of hot water from the shower lands on my body.

I take the shampoo bottle from the shelf, pour some on my palm and the bottle falls on my foot. 'Ouch!' my lips parted and said even before I could interpret as to what was happening.I then quicken myself- wash my hair and scrub my entire body. I love taking bath, it always gives me some kind of freshness and good vibes.

As I get out of the bathroom, only wrapped in a towel, I quickly close the windowshields and the door. I then stand in front of the mirror, naked. And like this, another fifteen minutes pass while I keep staring at my body. I don't know whether I hate my body or not, but I'm just kind of super weird. I have a couple of tattoos which no one knows about( except my sister) due to the type of clothes I wear. I thought some tattoos would make me look better and maybe I could wear some other clothes but I look the same. Just as I was about to reach for my clothes, the door suddenly opens.

Damn, I forgot to lock that fucking door.

I quickly place the towel in front of my naked body. 'Stop overreacting and just hurry the hell up' Marnel, my sister, yells as she takes a seat on my bed. I take a deep breath of relief. 'You fucking scared me' I say as I remove my towel and finally start to wear my undergarments. Me and Marnel have been always close. She's doing a temporary job in a bank right now, she's four years elder than me. When we were little, we always used to eat, sleep, play, bathe and stay together. We've done a lot of fun but not anymore. We both talk to each other like we're from rival groups. She's my complete opposite- She wears a lot of make-up, wears short dresses, hangs out with a bunch of friends, changes her boyfriend every month and the list goes on. 'New panties , eh?' she asks with a smirk on her face. I roll my eyes at her.

' Asshole, couldn't you buy one for me?' She adds when i give no response.

'Stop acting like a fucking child. Have you ever bought anything for me? Ever?'

' Oh c'mon, I give you birthday gifts'

' Yeah, I know what kind of birthday gifts you give me'

' Whatever. Hurry up, mom's waiting' she says and leaves. She's the weirdest sister in the world. I remember what she gave me on my last birthday, she gave me a fucking rusted scissor. When I asked her the reason behind it she said that she was too busy to go to the stores to buy something, so she gave me whatever she saw first in her room.

I then rush downstairs. My father is sitting on the sofa, busy with his phone, as usual.

'Don't you think you should start waking up a bit early?' my father asks.

' And don't you think you should leave your phone for a minute?' I say.

' You need to stop replying back to your father that way!' my mother shouts, as expected.

As I was about to open my mouth to counter back, Marnel says ' Don't start this now, please'

I roll my eyes as I sit on the chair, and everyone joins. My mother serves the food to everyone.

'You should wear a correct pair of socks at least for today. You're wearing a black and a grey' My mother says, taking the first bite of her omelette.

I didn't even notice that I was wearing two different socks today. Sure, I always wear different ones but I remember wearing both blacks today. When I look down to check, I'm wearing one black and one charcoal grey.

' They both look the same anyway' I say. I mean, what's the difference? Charcoal grey is almost black.

' You should be properly dressed up on your first day of college' my mother says.

It's just college, right? Why does everyone has to freak out on their first day of college? Is it because you meet new people? I will never get this shit in my head.

Just as we were eating, someone bangs on our front door. No one looks bothered, but everybody's attention is to the door after the second bang. I get up and open the door only to see the people I'd never expected to.

Holy crap.
