Summary

Jormungandr, first child of Loki and Angroboda. God of Chaos and Midgard Serpent. He inherited destructive tendencies and shapeshifting from his father and his size from his mother. This story is more than just atelling of his banishment but also of Odin's greatest lie. Jormundandr sleeps deep in the sea the hidden plethora of caves. Despite what te legend says, he choose to slumber. The legend of Odin cursing him to sleep and tossing through the bifrost into Earth's Oceans hoping he would drown in his sleep because he commited a crime that only him and Jormungandr know about. This legend is only partly true. Jor did commit a crime but that crime was only of loving a human and trying to turn her. For one of his powers is to turn people into shapeshifting serpents to cause chaos. He wanted to be with his lover forever but because of her mortality, their relationship would always be short. Before he was bansihed Odin being cruel cursed him to live forever in his serpent form. He knows he'll wake up eventually but only after she has been reincarnated. He used his energy right before slumbering to bind his soul with hers. So as long as he is alive her body and soul will reincarnate, but he doesn't know how long it will take before he can be with her again. He is using the time in which he will sleep to collect his power into a great well to be used when he awakens once more.
