Chapter: 1
An Orangey lion cub named Niro, was just born when another cub was shortly born after. The cub after was a black coloured lioness cub, that they usually named as, 'Keya.' Then who came last was a light yellow lion cub, they had been born from an orangey coloured lioness named, Nzuri. She had beautiful blue eyes and a gorgeous smile. Nzuri looked down at the light yellow lion cub. She licked him a few times on the ear and cuddled with him. A black-ish furred lion named Kiburi, walked from behind Nzuri. Kiburi looked at his mate, Nzuri licked her face. He then looked at one another of the cubs. He saw an orange and a black one, but then he saw a light yellow cub that looked like a different kind of lion. What in the world is that?" He said, glaring at the light yellow cub. Nzuri quickly looked at Kiburi and stood up in front of him.
"He's your son, darling!" Nzuri looked at Kiburi. "He doesn't even look like us! He doesn't look like he's part of our family." Nzuri looked at the yellow cub.
"Such a worthless thing!" Kiburi roared. Nzuri stood up, feeling hurt and annoyed about how and what her mate was talking about their young son.
"You know.. If you don't respect your newborn son of who he is, then I knew that I should have never let you stay with me!" Nzuri showed her teeth and growled at Kiburi.
"Oh, alright! If this is what it's gonna be, then I'm leaving and taking Débil!" Kiburi walked to the yellow lion cub and picked him up with his teeth and held him in his jaws.
"Débil?! What kind of name is that?!" Roared Nzuri. She ran to Kiburi, about to hit him. Kiburi attacked Nzuri by biting the back of her neck. Nzuri roared in pain and watched Kiburi leave with the yellow cub. Kiburi glanced at her with frustration.
"It's MY young sons name! While it be Débil or not!" Kiburi yelled out, while he left. Nzuri bowed her head and closed her eyes. She sobbed, with her two young children glaring at her in concern. Niro and Keya got up and stood on their four paws. They both walked to their mother and cuddled together as they fell asleep, around their mothers arms. Kiburi walked with Débil with him in his mouth. He walked to the Pridelands and placed Débil on the dead grass. Simba had smelt another lion close by. Simba looked down from pride rock and ran off the rock.
"What are you doing here?!" He roared, showing his teeth to Kiburi.
"Oh, Simba. There's nothing to worry about! I just brought back one of your cubs. I guess, for some reason.. he ended up with us." Kiburi said, looking at Simba with his grumpy, old eyes. Simba glanced at Débil, then looked at Kiburi. "Kiburi, this cub doesn't belong to us. You must be mistaken for someone else's cub. Now get out of our pride Kiburi or come down with a fight! We already banished you from our pride, and now it's time for you to leave!" Simba turned away and started to climb pride rock. Kiburi backed away. He was surprised by some thought that maybe Nzuri had another cub with another lion in the pridelands. That thought made him wonder and made him feel hurt that she would do such a thing.
"Simba!" Simba had turned around to face Kiburi again.
"Simba, in my honor, once. May I talk to somebody from here once only..?" Simba walked down to Kiburi close, face to face. Simba sighed and allowed him to walk up one last time to see a yellow lion with dark brown eyes, laying down with a elderly lioness next to him, named Swab. Kiburi grabbed Débil and walked up to Priderock. Swab looked up at Kiburi. His brown eyes glooming in the light, making his brown eyes look lighter. Kiburi dropped Débil in front of Swab.
"Wonderful, just great! It is an honor to see you again, Swab!"
"Who ever brought you back here?" Swab said, nervously.
"Listen, Swab. I found this cub in our den. I'm just concerned because we've never seen this weird kind of creature in our home before. Don't tell me that this thing isn't yours because it looks exactly like you!" Swab would look down at the young cub. Swab chuckled,
"Alright, Kiburi. I haven't recognized this cub before. Why don't YOU take care of it? It doesn't look like it belongs to us. If it was in your cave, then it must be yours."
"Just take it, Swab!" Kiburi roared angrily. "Goodbye, have a good life, Kiburi." Swab said as he chuckled. Kiburi growled. He roughly grabbed Débil with his jaws and walked off. He found a cave and placed Débil down. "Oh.. Débil. I sure hope that you get to be a strong, brave lion one day. But.. I doubt it because I named you what you are." Kiburi snarled at his son. He waited till nightfall then left Débil alone in the cave. He soon came back with Niro and Keya. He then gave them both some meat from an antelope, not even forgetting about feeding Débil. Kiburi didn't care about Débil. He didn't like how he looked and who he was. Niro, Keya and Kiburi ate but also didn't finish the whole thing. Keya, as a sweet young cub, grabbed some meat from the antelope and secretly gave some to Débil. She loved Débil. She always watched over him, even though she couldn't talk. When Débil was doing something that he wasn't supposed to do, she did something about it and sometimes... Kiburi would take care of it his own painful, wise ways. Keya saw everything, heard everything, and felt everything. She would have stood up to Kiburi but was too afraid if he would hurt her like he had hurt Débil. Niro, on the other paw, was a rough, spoiled cub. He picked on Débil and sometimes he would pick on Keya. Kiburi always taught him to be strong and to be his best. Kiburi always asked Niro to follow him. He always showed and taught him what his father did for him. Niro was always Kiburi's favourite. Ever since he saw him for the first time of Niro's birth. When Débil got older, he was always the different one. The weird one. The weakling. That's what other cubs thought of him. Débil slowly walked in front of the cubs that were play fighting and sat down next to them.
"Hey, can I play too?" They glared at him then started giggling. They whispered to each other. A cub named, Gibi walked in front of Débil. "Who would ever want to play with a weakling? And besides, I don't think you can take it."
"Of course I can. How wouldn't I be able to...." Suddenly, Gibi pounced on Débil and pressed down on Débil's head with his paw. Débil struggled to get up. He tried to kick Gibi off but he was too strong.
"HEY, Débil! If that is even your name! Prove to us that you belong here!" Débil whimpered and didn't do anything. He was paralyzed. "What kind of name is Débil anyway? Why did your parents name you that?!" Other Cubs stared and watched. Some even joined in.
"Get up, Débil! You are not a weakling. Are you?"
"Haha! look at this wimp! He can't even defeat a cub his size!" A grey cub yelled out.
"Can't get up?" Gibi continued.
"You're just like a Pridelander. Your father was right about you!"
"Stop!" Débil clawed Gibi's face. Gibi's head swayed to the side. Débil got up but then Gibi ran and turned in front of Débil and pinned him down again.
"Aaah!" Débil struggled.
"I know! You started to run but didn't turn. I turned and you didn't. You should had turned so you could have gotten away. Even if you did get away, I would always find a way to-"
Débil's father, "Kiburi" would always be watching his "Worthless" son get picked on by other cubs. He would shake his head then get up off the grass. He ran and roared at the cubs. He swatted at them with one of his large paws.
"Get away from him! That's enough fooling around! All of you, get to wherever you came from! I've had enough of this, Débil!" Débil yelped as he grabbed Débil by the tail and dragged him to their cave. He let go of Débil's tail and looked back at him. He slowly walks away and heads into the cave. Débil sobbed with his head down on his paws. He looked up at the big bluish, black sky. He glared at the stars and sat up.
"I've heard the kings of the past are up there, now I don't think I'm so sure." Débil said, talking to himself pathetically. "You were never there for me. I don't think all these stories of you that I kept hearing were true. You never proved anything to me! You make me feel like I'm invisible. A nobody. Even my father doesn't believe in such things of you." Débil got up and walked into the cave, looking down the whole time. He laid down on a cold rock facing outside. He glared at the moon until he closed his eyes and fell asleep.
