Culturally different
"I can't rate the authors writing style as it is wriitten from the vantage point of a culture I don't know enough about. The story feels more like a prequel then a story in my opinion. It took 13 of 24 chapters to introduce the main character's background. The story itself is 24 chapters, that's too much of a set up for me to believe this finishes in 9 more chapters. The introduction of the background needs to be slow, the main character won't believe it quickly, nor should she. Imagine living your entire live as one being, only to be told 20 years in that you are something else. Belief wouldn't come easily. It would take time, time that this book doesn't have remaining. Hopefully I am wrong in my assumptions, the next 9 chapters will tell me. "
