Jhiro’s Arrival

“Why am I here again?”

“Your talents have been recognized by the administration”

“Who are they?”

“You know this. The administration helps keep society in check. Everyone has to be tested, even you Jhiro.”

Jhiro sat back in his seat. A 14 year old boy shouldn’t have to worry about his future. He was unsure about whether he could live up to the high expectations that were suddenly placed in him. He’s used to these type of circumstances though, his Mom would always compare Jhiro to his older brother. Something just didn’t seem right about the test to Jhiro though, you can’t ask anyone about what it’s like or you will be killed. The silence of the car ride made time freeze, the distance to the school felt increasingly long.

“Hey Mom....”

“What is it?”

“What if I fail the test?”

“No one knows. If someone has failed nobody knows who failed or what they’re doing now. In other words, it’s a situation you don’t have to worry about, you’re smart. Besides, it’s your last week of middle school I’m sure that will raise your spirits.”

Jhiro forgot that middle school was almost over, just two day’s left, one to take the test and another to hangout with your friends before moving to your assignments. You can’t study for the test because no one knows what’s on the test because few are selected and aren’t allowed to talk about it. Jhiro doesn’t even know why he was selected, he’s just an ordinary kid. Jhiro didn’t think there was anything special about him, standing at five feet ten inches his height was even ordinary.

“Hey Mom, what’s special about Mom?”

The car swerved into another lane and then corrected itself. Jhiro’s Mom was completely caught off guard by such a question, for she herself didn’t know the answer to that. They reach their house and immediately after parking, Jhiro’s Mom turns around.

“I’m not saying because you’re my son, but I’ve always had this feeling that you’re special and that you’re gonna do great things.”

Despite his Mom’s attempt at a recovery, a decent one at that, Jhiro was still skeptical of his own abilities. They got out of the car, went inside, and Jhiro went straight to his room. He laid down on his bed and stared at the ceiling. Tomorrow, Jhiro’s future will be decided, does he have what it takes to change his course?

The next morning Jhiro followed his usual routine; wake up, shower, change clothes, and eat cereal. It felt like a normal day, but it wasn’t and Jhiro could only hide that from himself for a little bit longer. The car ride to the testing area made things worse, Jhiro’s Mom didn’t want to say anything that would make him nervous or lower his confidence...if he had any. It was a short ride, to a small building with few cars parked outside. They walked in, there was a receptionist at the desk. Jhiro anxiously approached her.

“Hi, I’m Jhiro and I’m here to take the test.”

“Head straight to the back”

It was weird, there was a door to the left of the receptionist and then behind that door just a long hallway. A long hallway with one door at the end, Jhiro took a deep breath and all his fears and worries just vanished. He calmly walked to the door and slowly stepped in. Three guys in lab coats were standing there all gloved up and ready to go. One of them stepped forward and starting poking at Jhiro.

“Ah, so this is the famous Jhiro we’ve been told about”

Jhiro’s mind was completely blank, if this wasn’t the kind of test with a pencil and paper, He doesn’t have the slightest clue.

“Hi....who are you guys.”

Another one steps forward

“No need to worry about that, if all goes well then we won’t matter for the rest of your life. Now could you take off your shirt.”

Without question Jhiro takes his shirt off, he doesn’t know what the test is or if this is even it. He will just do anything to get the hell out of there.

“Why are you guys wearing masks and full body suits???”

“Don’t worry Jhiro, you just need to take this and if nothing happens then all is well.”

One of the scientists is holding a syringe and does that thing where they flick it. He grabs Jhiro’s arm and injects a red syrum into him.

“Alright, what now?”

Jhiro’s body was turning red. All of the scientists slowly backed away.

“Guys! What’s happening?”

“This wasn’t suppose to happen.”

“We didn’t think it was actually going to work.”

Jhiro body slowly went back to its regular hue and everything calmed down.

“What do you mean it’s not suppose to work?”

One of the scientists sat down and put his hands in his head.

“We call it a pass if the serum doesn’t work because if it does work then you’re future is decided for you. We’re sorry.”

“What do you mean you’re sorry?”

A bright flash of red brightened the room and all of a sudden Jhiro was not in the room with the scientists. A city that is lit by a red sun, a big city, lots of towers and buildings and...demons. A blue thing with wings and a tail comes flying down from the red sky.

“Uuuuuuuh, where am I? And who are you?”

“I’m surprised you are pissing yourself by now.”

“Hentai....”

“....Well then...I’m Lucifer and you’ve been personally selected to enter my program.”

“Program?”

“Welcome to High School Hell. I’ve been inviting different species from across dimensions for a while now. The human race was the first I wanted to come, but they’ve alluded my program for a while by making it a specific requirement to pass a sort of reaction test. I got annoyed and made the serum work for you, thus giving hell its first human student.”

“Uh, thanks I guess.”

“We will need to outfit your body to fit the environment.” Lucifer pulls a candy from his pocket and unravels it. “Try this.” Lucifer tossed it to Jhiro.

Jhiro threw it in his mouth and started chewing.

“What does this do, besides taste like shit?”

“You’re funny. I don’t think anyone has ever said somethjng like to me. It’s suppose to morph your body to fit it’s environment and it should start...now.”

Jhiro grabbed his stomach and fell on just knees. His skin started turning red and and his teeth grew larger and sharper.

“Is that it?”

“No, as your years here carry on, your morph will further itself and you will acquire new abilities and your body will continuously change. In other words...Welcome to Hell.”
