Grey's Anatomy Plane Crash

“Meredith…” Christina whispered. “Mere… Mere….” she quietly spoke again.

No one answered. After she pushed the rubbish off of her back, she began to stand up. She looked around but could not seem to find anyone. Christina began to realize what had happened. The plane had crashed but she was alive. Thoughts began rushing through her head. Is this a dream? Is everyone okay? Am I the only one alive? How did this happen? All of the sudden she heard something move. She turned around and saw Derek crawling out from under the plane. He asked her if she was okay and told her that they needed to find the others and make sure that everyone was safe. As Meredith and Lexie walked around the corner, Christina ran over to them and began crying. Meredith hugged Christina and told her that they needed to find Mark. Lexie had been looking for Mark but could not figure out what happened to him. The three girls began searching and almost did not realize Arizona was missing also. While Meredith offered to search what was left of the plane, Christina and Lexie began to walk around the crash sight. Meredith then saw Derek and ran over to him with overwhelming comfort. She hugged his neck and noticed a small wound on his right shoulder.

“Derek does that cut hurt?” she asked.

He quickly shrugged and told her that it was just a negligible scratch. As they began going through the plane, they searched for their missing friends. Derek checked the front of the plane and there he found the pilot, dead. Meredith gasped.

“Derek” she said. He walked over to where she was standing. “What is it?” he asked her. “It’s Arizona. She she she doesn’t look okay”.

Just then Derek peered around the corner and saw. Arizona was lying under a large piece of metal as big as a locker. Her legs were tucked under a broken seat and she was lying unconscious. He reached down and tried to find her pulse. Nothing. He looked up at Meredith with a face full of sorrow.

“She’s dead” he softly spoke.

Meredith fell to her knees in disbelief. She leaned over to Derek and tears began to slowly roll down her cheeks like rain. He embraced her in his arms and she felt the comfort of his warm chest against her face.

“Mere I know this is hard and I don’t understand why or how any of this happened, but we need to stay strong and help the others find Mark” Derek said in a light but confident voice.

Meredith agreed and wiped the tears off of her face. She loved Derek’s comforting but knew she couldn’t stay there forever. The two of them walked out and called for the others. Suddenly, they heard a scream as loud as a gunshot from about a half mile away. Derek broke out into a dead sprint in the direction of the scream. It did not take him long to get there because his favorite thing to do on the weekends was running. Derek arrived and found a dispersion of luggage. Lexie peered over at him with a worried look on her face.

“Look, it is Mark and I think he is hurt” she said.

Derek looked down at Mark and saw him laying on the ground with blood running through his shirt. He slowly lifted the shirt and saw a large wound. He asked Christina to get him any materials from the spilled luggage that could help him suppress the bleeding. The wound was examined by Derek. He saw that none of Mark’s major organs were injured and that for the time being all that he needed to do was stop the bleeding. He asked the others about their opinion and with their assent he tightly wrapped two ripped up shirts around Mark’s waist.

Thirty minutes later, after everyone had settled down and everything seemed to be under control, Christina noticed a slight pain in the back of her head. She felt it with her hand and looked down. Her hand was covered in a river of blood. The pain became worse, therefore she walked over to Derek and asked him to take a look. Her voice seemed nonchalant and he expected it only to be a small cut. He asked her to sit down and moved her dark hair out of the way. He could not believe what he was looking at. Christina’s head was severely sliced and the incision had cut the back of her skull. Derek had seen a brain injury this bad only once before and he knew that he needed to take action immediately. As he called the others to tell them what was going on, he saw Christina’s face turned snow-white and she fell to the ground. Derek only had a short amount of time to save her life.
