Chapter 1

“Second star on the right, straight on ‘till morning. You’re almost home, Wendy,” shouted Peter Pan to the Darlings as they flew through the cool sky. Wendy noticed something was off and her bright smile soon turned into a distressed frown. The town was dead: no lights, no sounds, no... people. Naturally, Peter Pan, Wendy, Michael, and James rushed to see if their parents and dog, Nana, were safe. When Peter Pan peered through the window, he saw Mr. and Mrs. Darling gnawing at Nana’s entrails and brains. Peter Pan jetted to Wendy and her brothers and deterred them the other way.

“Nobody was home, maybe the police will know what’s going on,” Peter said to make sure Wendy didn’t lose her sanity.

While James, a boy in a top hat and spectacles, flew over his hometown, he noticed below him a little girl screaming as a deteriorating human chewed on her flesh like a teething puppy with razor sharp teeth. Speechless with shock and disbelief, James motioned to Wendy and Michael what he saw with bulging eyes.

Wendy screamed and asks, “What is that?! What is happening.”

There was no reply, since she didn’t notice that Peter had plummeted to the forest floor and passed out. Wendy, Michael, and James slowly glided to the street, but not intently. Something was going wrong, none of them could fly anymore. That is not Wendy’s priority problem, they have got to find Peter. Wendy grabs her littlest of the brothers’ hands and searches the woods, hoping to find Peter and not run into whatever they saw back in the town.

“I’m starving,” Michael whined.

“We have to keep going, Michael,” replied Wendy. As they treked through the forest, they ran across someone’s backpack full of supplies: water, canned pineapple, two blankets, and a buck knife. Without a second thought, Michael grabbed a rock and stabbed a hole in the top of canned pineapple and chugged the juice.

James snatched the can away from Michael and said, “Wait, we might need to save some of these for later. We don’t know how long we could be out here.”

“But i’m so hungry,” said Michael.

“Okay just a couple of slices, then give them back to Wendy,” responded James. Wendy gently tucked the pineapple away back into the backpack. It was getting dark and about time to go to bed, so they decided to make camp. Because Wendy, James, and Michael had just came back from Neverland, they got really good at making forts and climbing trees. Michael, being the youngest, was an agile monkey making it to the highest limb of the three. Wendy pulled the two blankets out, tied two corners around two different branches to create a hammock. While Wendy slept on the biggest branch she could find, she let her brothers sleep in the two hammocks she had made. Even after midnight, Wendy still layed awake. Her head spun with an overwhelming amount of suspicions.

Wendy thought, “What if we never find him; What if he is already dead?” She soon reassured herself, “He is probably fine, He loves adventures, and he has fought pirates before, he knows what he is doing.” Wendy fell asleep with a tiny bit of comfort.
