Chapter 1
Start writing here…Have you ever heard about the story of the fly that was killed by knowledge?
It seems that our little friend has grown a little and started to discover the world around him. Every minute he asks his father who seems tired of his age and his extensive experience in life. All that this poor father wants is to finish reading his daily newspaper and drink his black coffee that its blackness looks like darkness on a dark night.
“What does this mean? How do I know such and such?”
This is how boy’s questions sound like, with every question his father answers with an answer, hoping that it will be his last question and leave him alone, but at the same time he is proud of his little boy who hasn’t even reached his eleventh age, but his cultural and cognitive level makes him look like an international university graduate. But one question from the child changed everything and made the father take a long sip from his coffee as if it was the last sip of coffee for him in his life, putting his newspaper aside, wondering how a child can think of a question like this, and how he is going to answer it with an answer that suits his bright age and mind.
“What is the true meaning of life, Dad?” asked the boy
The father only had to answer with small story to suit his level, hoping to take a lesson from it.
`` Have you heard before my son about the story of the fly that was killed by knowledge? ″ Said the father
`` No, how can knowledge kill a fly? Do you mean modern technology and innovations such as pesticides, for example? ″ ``no, I am talking about knowledge itself. Let me tell you a story so that I can deliver the idea that I am talking about. ″ Somewhere in this world where humans, flies, and other beings live their lives in harmony , there was a tribe that settled by flies and live their daily lives in peace blessing, living in their daily routine just like any flies did before them. But the only thing that is different in this “tribe” is that they have a small, sealed and clogged book that is not allowed to anyone to approach it or give a look at it. Thus generations and generations passed, and nobody gave the book any attention, covered in dust and looked in a poor condition. In that tribe there was a very curious fly, spending most of its time near humans exploring the world around it, and it was also arrogant and cocky towards other insects always boasting about the greatness of its tribe and its race. Everything was fine until the day that fly passed in front of that book and filled with curiosity about opening it and seeing its content.
The fly could have almost opened the book, but the guard did not allow her, and stood against her face to stop her from doing that, also the guard has strongly warned the fly not to approach that book again or else she will be punished. This warning, which did not increase the fly except insistence and urgency to obtain the book, it made her more curious and interested than before, she kept thinking about the content of the book and how to reach it, but even made her obsessed with it and to obtain the book in any way and in any price. Whenever the fly tries to approach or reach the book the guard has been there to stop her and stand against her face. The guard advised her to forget about this crazy idea because it would be better for her, but stubbornness and curiosity overcame her and only one solution left for her it is that to put an end to the life of that guard and get rid of him. And that what she really did, she killed that guard in a cold blood in order to get to the book.
She finally got that book after several attempts and impatient moments and she began reading every line of that book carefully and attentively.
As soon as she finished reading the book, she felt a heavy weight in her heart and chest from the horror of the information contained in the book, she felt that there was a time-bomb inside her head is about to explode and pain in her stomach as if she devoured a pound of solid stones, regretting every line she read from the book.
This Poor fly could not bear the horror and the size of the information and the frightening truth contained in the book, and she found only one solution to get rid of that pain and horror, which is to put an end to her life, to get rid of this knowledge that embraced her head and blackened everything in her life.
When the rest of the tribe passed by the flies from that place, they did not understand what exactly happened there, as they were surprised by the presence of two bodies lying on the ground near the prohibited book thinking that the curse of opening the book killed both of them. So, they decided to completely get rid of the book, not knowing what really happened and what the book contained. And they continued their daily routine as if nothing had happened.
“But Dad, what did the book contain?” said the boy.
“Hahaha, it seems that there is a curious fly in my house. Well, my son let me tell you. So the book simply contained general information about the life of flies, as we know that the life of flies is very short, does not exceed fifty days at the most, and that the flies live on residues of the rest of other beings like rubbish and even crap, and other inferior information. This information made the fly realize the smallness of its size compared to the rest of the other beings, also to realize that what she was feeding on was nothing but worthless waste, she realized that her life was an illusion and a lie, as she was spending most of her time boasting In front of other insects, over the greatness of her species and race, all this was an illusion that has no basis, and most importantly, her life is too short even to discover a very small part of this vast and big world.
Sometimes, my son, it is better for us not to know some things if we are not prepared for them, because the truth is my son, once and sometimes frightening. The more you know, the less your happiness will be in this life. Unfortunately, my son the people who knew the answer to your question could not live long enough to share the answer, perhaps because they do not want us to end up like them.
`` Is that why we find idiots always happy in their lives compared to smart people, my father?
“Is there no end or limit to your questions, you smart fly hahaha?
