Chapter 1
Today was the worst day of her life. She stood in front of a large mirror looking at the lilac satin dress she had picked for her weeding. She hated that it had come to this, marring the man she hated more than anything. She kept telling herself this was what she really wanted.
She kept telling herself that this was the only way to save her clan and protect the floral and woodlyn homes where she had spent the last few years since her father had died in the great battle several years ago.
Now her she was doing the one thing her father had died trying to prevent. The joining of her clan and the clan of the dreaded dragons. The dragon clan’s leader was Barry (Bartholomew). Barry took over the clan when his father was murdered by King Graham. Barry promised that if Jasmine married him the clans would remain safe as would all the magical creatures in them. His father had been trying to join the clans since the princess had been born twenty years ago.
When Jasmine was born she was the prettiest princess every born with her raven hair and amethyst eyes. She was foretold to have powers greater than that of even the most powerful mage or magician alive. Her father Prince Graham of the wood elves had fallen for her mother Princess Rose of the fairies.
Rose was the only child of the fairy King Frankincense and Queen Ivy who thought their only daughter would never marry because she always ran off the boys that tried to court her. Then finally on one of her daily flights about the forest she saw him. King Graham a prince at the time being the only son of King Geraldo and Queen Guinevere. He was out for one of his daily walks on his parents land.
He normally walks earlier in the day but a late ball to find him a bride had caused him to sleep in. He had always heard of the fairy clan but had never seen them because they never ventured in to the elves territory even if they were alias.
She hid and watched him sitting and watching the river and mumbling. He was mumbling something about not being ready for a bride that his parents were making him. She couldn’t see whom he was talking to.
Then as she snuck around the tree she was floating in she saw the cutest little baby unicorn unlike the rest she had seen that were all always totally white this one was white but it’s main and tail were rainbow with a hint of silver.
When she saw the unicorn she gasped in awe forgetting she wasn’t alone today. Then quickly had to hide because Graham had spun around to see who was there thinking he had been alone this whole time. Knowing he saw something he leaves his friend for the moment to search out the intruder.
Rose hadn’t noticed that before she had gasped she had grown to her human size that she wondered the forest in. Therefore, it was easy for Graham to find her standing behind the thin frail tree she was standing behind. “Who’s there” he calls “Show yourself you won’t be harmed.”
Not knowing he can already see her in her bright red day dress with roses about it she stands still hoping he hadn’t actually seen her. “Miss please show yourself. You won’t be harmed.” Graham said. Rose slowly stepped around the tree to see the most handsome elf she had ever seen.
Graham was about six feet tall with platinum blonde hair and turquoise eyes. Graham stood there in awe as well looking at the most beautiful woman he had every seen not even noticing her hot pink lace wings upon her back. Rose was a prime beauty of twenty years young with red hair and emerald green eyes.
“H-h-e-e-l-l-o I’m Prince Graham” he stuttered.
“I’m Princess Rose of The Wildflower Fairy clan. Nice to meet you” Rose said.
“I’ve never seen a fairy before. You’re the most beautiful woman I have ever seen.” Graham said, “What are you doing in the forest. I was told that the fairies never come here.”
“Most normally don’t. However, I like to. I like to be alone with my thoughts and the wildlife. Your friend there is the most beautiful unicorns I have ever seen, but why is her main and tail so different.” Rose asked Graham
“I’m not real sure our preist has not been able to figure it out. I found her sitting beside her dying mother and her main was already changing from white to this beautiful perfect rainbow pattern. The silver came a few weeks later when the priest tried to heal her from a snakebite. He saved her life and then the silver came in here hair but left his.” Graham explained.
“Her name is Abby. Would you like to meet her?” Graham asked Rose.
He took her hand and froze. He felt strange, kind of fuzzy in his tummy and weak in the knees. Rose also felt just as funny. Her heart was racing and her eyes were sparkling. Neither was sure what this feeling was but they both liked it.
After a short pause he walks her over to the riverbank and introduces her to Abby. They spent the next few hours just talking and having a great time.
From that moment on they meet every day. They felt the undeniable connection that they had never found in all the years of looking for love. They spent the next few months meeting and getting to know everything they could about each other
Rose had fallen in love with Graham the moment she saw him, as did Graham with her. Then come the day he told his parents that he had found his bride that they had pushed for for the last few years.
Once Graham told King Geraldo and Queen Guinevere about Rose they had mixed feelings. Happy he had finally feel in love but greatly concerned that it was with a fairy.
Rose also told her parents King Frankincense and Queen Ivy of Graham but didn’t receive the same reaction as he did. Her parents were none to happy of her choice to marry out of the clan and even more out of the Realm they had entrusted she would marry in.
