THE STRANGE EVENT
What is this place? Why does it looks so familiar? I know this place. There's a lot of sunflowers around me. I can feel the heat of the sun and how fresh the air is. There is no specific way nor destination. I just keep on walking and walking until I saw someone standing under the tree.
It is a woman. Long straight hair, her skin is white as the milk, thin but seems healthy. As soon as she turn herself around. I saw her gorgeous brown eyes, perfect heart shape of her lips and her cute nose. Then she smiled at me like she's deeply inlove with me. Until I realized it was actually my wife.
Alexandra Fade. I met her during our highschool days, she was nobody that time. Nobody noticed her except me. She's the type of girl who wanted to be alone all the time. Being with her books and music she's good to go. I remember seeing her during lunch time, alone on the corner of the library. Reading her usual book and wearing black old earphones.
Alexandra's style back then is way different. She used to wear big round eye glasses, blue braces, curly hair and loves to wear sweaters. I tried to invite her to different occasion for me to date her but she keeps on rejecting me. Alexandra always used to tell me that she only need herself, herself alone until one day some mean girls tried to hurt her physically and mentally. So I stepped forward and be her hero. Back then, I was one of those students who doesn't care about education but still famous because of my charisma. Despite of being known by other people I only care about her. Only her and nothing else.
Starting that day we started to became friends that turns to something special. I was with her since day one before Alexandra became a famous vlogger. I keep on supporting her because aside from me that's her happiness. Sharing her expriences to other people, telling them to go outside their comfort zone.
"There's something much more outside the shell." That's her famous line.
We never had a huge argument. Both of us keep telling to each other that when we argue, we must make sure it wont last long. Alexandra and I are in good terms. We have a healthy relationship. That is why I keep on asking myself why didn't she came back?
As I look at my wife under the tree. Her lips seems to say something. So I came closer to know her message.
"Wake up" Alexandra said.
That was the moment I realized I'm only dreaming. I can feel how cold it is because of the heavy rain outside. As I look around, seeing the rectangular big window near me with a white curtains and as I focus myself forward I see my white bed. I'm back into my room where reality slapping me that Alexandra is already gone.
I stood up and went straight to the desk where my laptop is placed. I turned it on and suddenly my heart keep on aching again. I saw the wallpaper, it's a picture of Alexandra and I. It is a graduation picture, the time she said yes to me. They keep on telling her she's very lucky but all of them are wrong. I'm the one who's lucky.
I open the google chrome to check if there's an article or an update about my missing wife. The last time we talked is all her plan going to the mysterious forest. The call it the bakunawa forest. I tried to stop her but she insisted. She told me it will be her last time doing her vlog so she wanted to make it something memorable. To do something much more. I just wish I forces her not to go, as much as I can. But it is too late now.
As I checked everything. It is all about asking the internet why she disappeared. I have no fucking clue. Not even a single clue.
You might be asking yourself, maybe because of that mysterious forest? The bakunawa forest I wish that was the answer but no. It wasn't the forest. The special police force even the well known detectives investigate the place but none of them found any single proof. No trace. No footprint. Nothing at all. One of them told me that she didnt even reach the forest yet before she disappeared. I just wish I know the answer. Some of the people in the internet are blaming me. They're pointing their finger on me, it is because I might be a bad husband. I once read an article about me being abusive even though that I'm not.
I can feel my tears again falling. Feeling my heart breaking. My whole body being so numb. I dont take good care of myself anymore. I dont eat properly. I dont drink my medicine anymore. I'm so lost without her. It's already a month since the day she didnt come back. What a strange event?
I started to move and went to the kitchen. Making my breakfast so that I have a power to move for a bit. I dont need to healthy anymore. I just want my whole body to die slowly because I can't do anything to bring her back. My money inside the bank are now gone. Spending everything just to find her. I have no purpose now. She's gone. I should have travel with her. But that day, something came up. There was a problem with the company that I'm working at, so she told me that she'll go first and I'll just follow. But it was not possible. There was a huge bankrupt that I didnt know that exist that will consume me a lot of time. So I have to fix it as soon as possible.
While fixing the company's problem, I didnt realized it was already a week while her plan is just two days. So I started to panic. Calling her. Giving her messages but not a single dot came back. And that was the strange event happened.
