Start writing here…Caterpillar sat on a leaf munching away.

The sun was shining, it was a beautiful day.

A grasshopper jumped on the leaf by his side.

The little caterpillar wanted to hide.

‘Look at me so weak and small’

While he can jump so high and tall’

Caterpillar watched the butterflies fly,

‘I wish I was strong’ he said with a sigh.

A butterfly looked at him and said with a grin

‘Don’t worry caterpillar, your strength is within’

Caterpillar sadder but bigger now chomped on a leaf much like a cow.

A ladybird flew over his head.

Caterpillar looked at her and said

‘Look at me so ugly and hairy’ ‘While she is dainty and red like a cherry’

Caterpillar watched the butterflies flutter, ‘I wish I was beautiful’ they heard him mutter.

A butterfly looked at him and said with a grin.

‘Don’t worry caterpillar, your beauty is within’

Caterpillar now fat but very sad was devouring a leaf as if he was mad

A bee busy making her honey

Looked at him and thought he looked funny

‘Look at me eating away’ ‘While he is busy working all day’

Caterpillar watched the butterflies do their job,

‘I wish I had a purpose’ they heard him sob

A butterfly looked at him and said with a grin

‘Don’t worry caterpillar, your purpose is within’

All alone and very depressed, Caterpillar decided it was time for a rest.

He pulled out his blanket and wrapped up well

And into a deep slumber Caterpillar fell.

He slept for hours, he slept for days,

There on his leaf caterpillar lay.

And after sleeping for a very long time,

Out of his blanket Caterpillar did climb.

And while the butterflies watched and clapped

Into the air Caterpillar flapped.

No longer ugly, useless or weak

Caterpillar had purpose, he was strong and sleek.

A butterfly looked at him and said with a grin.

‘You see little butterfly, you had it all within.’
