i. QUINTESSENCE OF TEARS
And I am tired of everything,
tired of the way things have been.
I am tired of the things they try to bury,
tired of everything I have seen.
I am trying to cope with it all,
but I know that soon I will collapse.
For I am not dancing in a ball,
where things are kept under wraps.
And now everyone talks,
over things that are of no concern.
While they stain the earth I walk,
with things I wish I did not discern.
For now I am the sadder and the saddest,
because of things I did not commit.
I am the hunted amidst all the maddest,
paying for something over the summit.
And it does bring tears to my eyes,
the way I am the target of their despise.
For after all those shared laughter and cries,
this is the only thing they have chosen to surmise.
