New beginnings
"That's it am finished with love"...am tired of get my heart broken over and over again, enough is enough. That day I stood watching my ex-making out with one of his coworkers in the parking lot of his job. Since it was my day off wanted to surprise him with a date night and a movie then we would have eventually finish the night off making sweet passionate love, but oh well I guess he had different plans. I left his work place and went straight home and started packing up my things, I wiped the tears from my eyes he wasn't worth it. I packed only what I needed and started put the boxes in my car and left the house keys on the counter and left that very evening.
"Good morning Mom" Grace said as she went down stairs. "It that's what your wearing to the interview?" Simone asked, looking at her daughter from her head to toe. Grace look down at herself, she had liked her outfit it was simple and professional.
He had pair a white work blouse with a black pencil skirt which hugged her figure perfectly and with it she pair a black flat shoe. She was never to the type to wear heels. " I look ok mom, see you after the interview." Grace said heading out the door.
Her mother was a single mother of three kids, Grace being the eldest then there was Demar and Millia the youngest. Grace didn't know her father but she didn't grow as if she had none. Her brother and sister both live with their father John and would visit every now and then. Even though they didn't like together they had an unbreakable band with each other. After Grace dad had left when she was born, her mother had work hard to give her the best life that she could, even though she had her at young age.
Simone had Grace when she was sixteen, at the time she was scared and all alone but she knew she have to do her best to make life better for her child. She started working as a house keeper at a hotel and had down a good job that she got a promotion to manager, her supervisor had encourage her to go back to school so that no one would question her education and look down at her and she had done just that. She took care of Grace by herself and she was doing a great job, since she was new to the mother world. Couple years passed and she met John Brown who whisked her off her feet, at the time Grace was five. She was in a bliss and soon she had added to her family and when Demar and Nillia turned four John left saying that needed to figure out his life before he started thinking about settling down. Simone was upset at first because she was thinking about how would her provide for three kids now on her, he told her that he was not running from his responsibility and he would be there for them. And he was true to his word, eleven years has pass Grace was off to her first job interview and her brother and sister had moved to start high school and couple years back, since they like it there and their dad could afford it.
Grace arrives a Links LTD at 8:30 am sharp with all her documents, it was always important to her to be early. It was weird to find a someone cleaning up so late in the morning when the office is open at 8:00 am. She thought little of it and pass and said good morning to man and started heading in to the building.
" Good morning Miss how are you?" the man asked Grace after she had said good morning. "Am doing ok sir and how are you ?" Grace replied with a smile.
" Am doing ok, dear" he replied with a simple smile and started to walk away. "Have a nice day" Grace called out to the man and he smile and nod and wished her the same.
With a smile on her face she enter the building while checking her watch for the time, it was now 8:15 am and she was now 45 minutes early for the interview, she headed to the receptionist.
"Hello good morning, I am Grace Rose and I am hear for an interview for the Personal Assistant at 9". Grace said with a smile. The receptionist looked up at her from her computer and smiled, " Good morning Miss Rose I am Stacey please to meet you, the interview will be held on the 9th floor, just take the elevator on your right when and good luck.
Grace smiled and then said " Thank you Stacey" and head to the elevator. When the elevator open, there were a few females looking anger getting out and one was in tears and was talking on the phone saying that she didn't get the job.
Grace entered the elevated and trying not to think to much about the interview else because she didn't want to be nervous. The elevator opened and she step out in to the lobby, which was filled with a lot of women, some were touching up their make up and fixing their push up bras and putting more lipstick.
She went and took a seat and said good morning, just few acknowledge her but that was ok. She recheck her documents to see if there was anything missing, just in case she would need to make any copy. A door opened and all head turned, standing in the door way was a tall man with a clip board in his hand. It showed that he was the CEO, it was like you could feel the power running off of him, he took control of the room without even opening his mouth.
Then he begone to called names," Anny Brody, Grace Rose and Hanna Smith, other than the name that I have called please leave, Miss Brody your next." he said and the turn and enter his office. A chill ran over her when he said her name, and her breath hitch for a split second, she had hoped that her name would be called but she hadn't expected it.
Grace and the other females were directed to the conference room, Mr Links entered after a while with folders in his hand.
"Good afternoon ladies, now these are your job description, and each of you have a specific job that you need to do and guidelines that most be followed while working for this organization. You were all given a test earlier and if your here sitting in this room it means that you have pass the test. Now if you could excuse me ladies, Miss Rose if you could please follow me." with Mr Links turn and started to exit the run with Grace following closely behind him.
