Prologue

Cassandra’s POV

“How could you!” Xavier exclaimed.

“Please no, it’s not what it looks like,” I said with tears running down my face.

“With my best friend. Get out, both of you!” Xavier yelled. I could hear the anger in his voice. Of our two years of marriage, I have never seen him this angry.

Next to me in bed was Antonio, Xavier’s best friend aka my husband’s best friend. We were both naked, I was having a desperate attempt to cover myself with the bedsheets.

“Please, Xav. I beg you.” I continued to plead.

“By the time I’m back I want the both of you out of my house!” He yelled.

He looked at the two of us as if he had just tasted something bitter in his mouth then stormed out of the room.

“How would you,” I said slapping Antonio in the chest. “Why would you do this to me.” I sobbed.

“What? We did this. We made love,” he said placing a smirk on his face.

“We both know that never happened, you drugged me,” I said.

Last night, he came here as usual. He said he wanted to talk to Xavier but I told him he wasn’t here, he insisted that we had a drink and I foolishly agreed. The next thing I knew was that I woke up to the sound of an angry Xavier and Antonio sleeping beside me naked.

“Good luck proving that last night was fun.” He said with a smirk on his face.

He stood up from the bed putting of his underpants.

He blows a kiss at me before leaving.

Immediately after he walked out, I broke down into tears. I don’t know what I had done to deserve this, how could he. All the time he came over trying to make small talk, even when Xavier wasn’t home. I should have known.

“I thought I was clear when I said I want you out of my house by the time I’m back,” Xavier said.

His shirt was untucked. His hair looked messy as if he had run his hands a few times in it. His eyes were red. His hands were in fists and one of his hand was bleeding.

“Let me help you,” I said walking towards him with tears still running down my cheeks.

“Don’t!” He yelled. “I said I want you the fuck out my house!”

“Please just listen to me. I can explain. It’s not what it looked like. Just give me a minute to...” I spoke.

He cut me off before I was done speaking by simply raising his hand.

“Get out,” he said. “On your way out don’t forget to sign those divorce papers.” He said pointing to the coffee table.

He stormed out of the room then slammed the door.
