Prince of the empire of Khurana household, the seven years old Master Akhil Khurana was studying in his room when his very pregnant nanny Mrs. Shanta Dampya brings him coco milk.
"Thanks Nanny ma. You could have called me out nanny ma instead of coming all the way up here. " said little master concerned about the baby bump which looked like it was about to explode.
"No baba, it is not good to be disturbed while studying. You should study, I'm fine." replied nanny ma acknowledging the importance of studying. She never had a chance to complete her education even after being the daughter of a farmer. So, she understood the importance of wisdom and it's power over poverty.
Master nodded and went back to his studying.
Shanta had been a the mother figure for Akhil ever since he was born. Akhil's mother died due to complications in pregnancy. Akhil's father was a businessman and to nurture his only child with motherly love, he hired a social worker from his orphanage namely Shanta as master's personal nanny. With time they bonded and became so close, that Shanta became nanny ma and Akhil became master baba.
That day in the evening with Mr. Khurana and Master baba's consent, Shanta took a maternity leave for 2 months. She didn't want to but her husband insisted on doing it because she was obviously too round to even walk properly. The Khurana's readily agreed to it and assured her that there was no need to worry about finances.
Three days later, Shanta gave birth to a very healthy baby girl and named her Haimi. She wanted her girl to seek more from life than what was presented to her. The street where they lived was ecstatic to invite the new baby. The society of Shanta was very close knit and people looked after each other.
Shanta's husband was a police officer of lower rank but very respectable because of his corruption free sense of duty. Shanta also had an elder son who studied with Akhil, due to generosity of Khuranas. Rahul and Akhil were classmates and best friends. Akhil's education was a training to take over the family business. Rahul was very intelligent and had agreed to be Akhil's right hand man for the rest of his life.
