Pamela

"Pamela! Hurry down! Jeremy's here!" My mom yelled up the stairs.

"Coming, mom!" I grabbed my bag and made my way downstairs.

I kissed her cheek and rushed out the door, fixing my glasses in place.

I opened the passenger door of Jeremy's black car and hopped in.

"Hey Jer." I smiled in his direction.

"Hey Pam." He smiled back tightly.

He faced the road and zoomed off, gripping the steering wheel tightly.

"Uh...Jer? Are you okay?" I asked.

"I'm fine."

"You sure?"

"I said I'm fine!" He gritted out.

"O-kay......" I turned to look out the window.

Jeremy had been behaving weird lately. Giving fake smiles, finding excuses to not hang out. There was something he was hiding from me.

I met Jeremy when I was five years old, back in kindergarten. He forgot his lunch and I shared mine. Since then we have been close and we tell each other everything.

Soon we pulled up in the school parking lot and we got out of the car.

"Are we still on for movie night?" I asked, smiling slightly at the thought. Movie night consisted of fluffy blankets, snacks and movies to binge watch till morning.

"No, sorry. I have things to take care of." He ran a hand through his long dirty blond hair, blowing strands that covered his eyes.

"But you've missed like, two others!" I complained.

"Look, Pamela I have stuff to do, okay?!" He huffed in frustration and stormed away.

I had one thought on my mind as I watched him stalk away.

He didn't call me Pam.

•~•~•~•~•

Where is he?

I've been looking for Jeremy for almost ten minutes now!

It's time for lunch and I can't find him!

I walked down the hall, looking around for him.

I spotted him-

Finally.

-with his tongue down Kaylee Creighton's throat.

Ah, sheep.

"Jeremy?" I called, confused.

He immediately snapped away from her, his eyes widening slightly once he spotted me.

"Uh...hey Pamela." He said.

"Is this why? Why you've been so distant lately?" I asked, my eyes filling with tears.

He sighed. "Yes."

Jeremy knew. He knew that Kaylee was the girl that was always picking on me, the bully. But that didn't stop him.

"Why? Why did you do this?" I stammered.

"Shut up bitch. He must have realized how pathetic you are. I mean, look at you." Kaylee flipped her auburn hair away from her face while I looked myself over.

Black baggy sweats, grey baggy sweat shirt and black canvas shoes with my long messy brown hair in a tangled bun and my glasses in place.

I thought I looked alright.

I looked over at Jeremy. He was quiet.

"Jeremy, you promised…" I let out a sob.

"I'm sorry, Pam. But I love her."

I let out a little sound.

He loves her.

Jeremy loves the girl who bullies me.

I turned around and ran out of school, sprinting all the way home.

"Pam! Why aren't you at school?" Mom asked when i burst into the house, but gathered me into her arms when she saw my face.

"What's wrong, sweetie?"

"Jeremy…" I sobbed, holding her tighter.

"Mom! I'm home!" I dropped my bag on the couch and walked into the kitchen, spotting my mom with an excited look on her face.

"Guess what sweetie." Mom smiled excitedly at me.

"You're taking me out for ice cream?" I asked hopefully.

She frowned slightly. "No, but its better than that."

"Well, what is it?" I asked impatiently.

"We're moving to LA!!" She said.

"WHAT?!" I shouted.

"Yep!" She nodded.

Immediately I screamed and grabbed mom's hands and we screamed together while jumping round in circles.

When we let go, i jumped on the counter. "When?"

"On Saturday, sweetie. I'm so excited cause this could be a big deal for me at work!" Mom smiled.

"Great!" I grabbed my bag off the sofa. "Well, I'm off to take a shower!" I called to her and went up to my room.

I slumped on the bed, landing on my back and then i smiled at the ceiling, sighing contentedly.

Only three more days before I can leave this hell hole.

Three days before I can leave Jeremy and Kaylee.

Life Is Good.
