𝚃𝚑𝚎 𝚄𝚙𝚜𝚒𝚍𝚎 𝚘𝚏 𝚑𝚒𝚖

I was starting school today. I had recently moved from Paris to New York. We always moved around a lot but never to a new country. I was starting at a new school.. the only this is it’s on a cruise ship and we will bring going around the world, my parents thought it would be a good idea so that I can be with the same people instead of moving with my parents every time and leaving my friends.

If I’m being honest I’m really happy I think this is good for me I get to travel the world and study, while staying with the same people.. but I’m going to miss my mother not so much my dad though.. we have a bad relationship but he always acts like everything is okay when it’s not and I hate him for it. But I’m also really scared because I don’t know anybody yet and I’m scared their all going to be snobby.. I’m going to have to live with these people for 3 years without anywhere to run off too. I’m afraid of that but i know that’s there’s going to be atleast someone I will get along with.. I mean.. I hope so.

I already packed my bags last night so that I don’t have to pack my bags today. I’m supposed to be leaving at 2:00 to get there at 3:25. I actually woke up 3 hours ago but I’ve been laying in bed staring at the ceiling thoughts going through my head. I do this a lot, I don’t know why though.. I mean I don’t mind it I normally do this until my mom yells at me to come here.

Actually I’m surprised because it’s now 12:46 and my mom still hasn’t gotten me up... weird. I get up and decide to take a shower before heading downstairs. After my shower I put on some presentable clothes for later when I leave. I head downstairs looking for my mom, except she isn’t here? Weird.

I pull out my phone as I sit down at the table.

*Over text message*

“Hey mom where are u?”

“Oh, hey honey sorry I didn’t wake you up or tell you I was leaving but I’m with Sarah right now can u believe that? She texted me this morning talking about how she was actually in New York for 3 more days apparently they came here for a Vogue photo shoot!”

“Oh yea that cool mom, tell her i said hi and it’s okay I was just wondering where u were, are u going to back to go to the schools headquarters?”

“Of course honey, don’t worry I’ll be back in a bit, but make sure your ready by the time I get back okay?”

“Ofc mom don’t worry I packed last night and I’ve already showered and gotten ready”

“Ok honey just making sure, I love you ❤️”

“I love you too mom 💕”

I turn off my phone and lay my head back, my stomach growls and I just laugh and get up to get a snack from the kitchen. I head back to my room with a pop tart and just watch YouTube on my tv the rest of the time before my mom gets back. When I hear the door open I run downstairs to greet my mom as she walks to the living room and sits down in her favorite chair.

“Ah such a long day, how are you honey” Mrs. Patel asked her daughter

“Find ofc, what did you and Sarah do today?”

“Oh nothing much, we went an ate and then hung out together for a little bit, I miss being young ahhh, this is why I wished we would stop moving but you know with your fathers work we can’t..”

“Yea I know.. “ Aiveen said looking down

“Hey don’t worry mom with this new school I’ll be able to make lots of friends and actually stag with them, I’m really happy and thank you” Aiveen said with a smile on her face getting up to give her mom a hug.

“What am I going to do without you?”

“Who knows but you better miss me, or else!” Aiveen said laughing hoping to get her mom to at least smile, which indeed worked, because her mom let out a chuckle.

“Oh you bet now go get your stuff it’s 1:30 and I want to get some ice cream with you before we leave”

“Okay” Aiveen laughed and went upstairs grabbing her stuff but before going downstairs she sat on her bed and let out a sigh, she was nervous but also happy.. she was feeling a lot of mixed emotions right now...
