How Teens Portray on Social Media
Start writing Social media is mostly reflecting the images of teens nowadays whether they are giving too much background of information of themselves on Facebook, telling everyone about their relationship status in Instagram, providing social life access through party photos that can be seen in Flashat app and Twitter and most of all showing some mild up to inappropriate contents on social apps like TikTok. But what do teenagers nowadays really think about themselves when it comes to social media?
Social media is a very influential tool that brings a lot of information to anyone that we can grasp easily or learn a lifestyle and perception of someone in just a small time. When we post on any social media network, we tend to wait for other people’s reaction through likes and positive comments. Of course, no one will wait for negative feedback and if it will happen, a teenager’s self-esteem is affected.
Most of the contents and posts nowadays that a teenager can see on social media are too amazing, to the point life here on Earth is too simple and perfect. Teens will notice that other people have a good family, can travel around the world, can buy everything they want and they’re very good-looking, a perfect family idea. If they are into social media so much, some others can feel not good about themselves and would come to a point in asking “What’s wrong with me oir with my family?”.
Social media right now really offers a self-edit of the true version of reality plus to the point that it is very much compelling nowadays. “Who’s gonna be trending and who will have more likes and followers online - is the game of social media at this moment.” Today, social media really influences young people’s sense of themselves as they try to be someone online. There is a lot to face with social media as it is an open book for everyone who can freely (most likely) write and read everything from cover to cover.
