Summary

My life passes by on the day to day bases, full of wonder and mystery. I just feel like I don't belong here, that somehow my mental state is speeding a million miles a minute and it's slowly degrading my thought pattern. My life has been filled with lies. I don't even know where to begin. I just keep repeating the same word over and over in my head until it leaves me crying on the floor with a pounding headache. Is...this...real?

Prologue

"Are you sure?" Doctor Reese asked with his glasses strewn about roughly on his young features. His dark brown hair was a tousled mess as well, and the white lab coat that all the Doctors wore. He was stressed from the workload, not once leaving the place as he basically called it home.

0

The nurse simply shrugged, heading out the already opened door. She didn't care about this place, why would she? They made her work 24/7 without the pay she deserved, so giving the Doctor a task sent in by the state was nothing to fawn over. But to Doctor Reese, little did he know the hell that would ensue within this court order.

Laying on the soft bed, comforter nowhere around him, Felix struggled to awake as nightmares invaded his dreams while he was asleep. Sweat coated the soft delicate features of his pale white face. His cheeks warmed up, staining a permanent red hue. He whined and whimpered as he felt like pain was being inflicted on him just by dreaming it. It was not fun for him, but he couldn't wake himself up. His sleep paralysis stopped him from turning. All he could do was lay there unscathed as he knitted his eyebrows together and let the dreams invade his mind.

0

White.

0

The color of everything he despised. It gave him too much discomfort as the color filled his brain, and the smell of bleach cleaner sifted through his small button nose as he scrunched it up, stopping his breathing to get rid of the smell that infiltrated his nostrils. His arms were placed at his side where they were glued down to his sides as he held onto the sheets tightly, gasping for air.

0

"Felix! FELIX!?" There was a jolt that ran through Felix as he awoke from the nightmares that caused him so much pain. It caused his skin to crawl with disgust as he wouldn't stop itching at the disturbing ache in his heart.

0

Felix's dad pushed him roughly as he started to yell into his ear, hoping to wake up the sleeping boy who was feeling the pain of his too real dreams. Something was never right when he slept, and his father felt it. He knew what was happening to him, but he was too cowardly to bring it up to the clueless boy.

0

Finally, Felix relaxed as he opened up his eyes, revealing dark green hues of pain that swirled like circles through his usually bright lids. His yellow blonde hair was in a mess, sprawled out in different directions as he sat up and rubbed the crust from his eyes. "Another one?" Felix rasped out as he was still gasping for air due to him holding his breath, when he tried to not breath in the smell of bleach.

0

Felix's father nodded as he walked to the bathroom, opening the cabinets as he pulled out some prescribed medicine. He held the orange bottle in his clammy hands as he swayed back over to his ill son. Felix grabbed the water that always stayed by his bed, his father made sure it would be refilled every night for nights like this one.

0

The bad thing is that this has been recent. Felix started to have these nightmares just 2 months ago and they were both perplexed as to how it had happened so suddenly. But only one knew all along what was really happening to the poor boy.

0

Swallowing two of those pills, Felix stood on shaky legs as he walked to his dresser to find some clothes for the start of his school day. "Do you really think you should be going to school? I-I mean...this one was worse than last time." Felix's father's voice laced with worry and nervousness. He really knew the danger of Felix going out at a time like this, but there was no way he'd tell him. He just wanted to keep his only son safe. After his mom died giving birth to Felix he made a promise. A promise to keep the young boy safe, as his protector.

0

"I'll be fine. School is important," Felix sighed lightly. He was tired, tired of waking up with his dad looming over him with those expressions of pity. He didn't want to be babied, he was growing up and this was life. Whatever was going on with him he'd deal with it, without people there by his side to help. He appreciated it, yes, but it was annoying and unnecessary. Felix took care of himself no matter how grave the problem was, he got through it the best he could.

0

"I'll go get dressed then. When you are ready I'll be in the car waiting. Okay?" Felix didn't answer his dad; he left, leaving the door slightly ajar.

0

Felix pulled his sweaty grey shirt off of him as he walked into his bathroom. He didn't have time to take a shower, he was already going to be late for school. Wetting a cloth with cold water, Felix rubbed it over the sides of his stomach as he stared at the scars that laced his stomach. The scars of his first attack was something he never got used to, he described it as something clawing at his skin, crawling out trying to take over his body. That night he scratched his stomach to stop the gross feeling. His nails grew oddly sharp that night, his memories resurfaced as he traced the scars and shivered in disgust.

0

It bled too much that night, it made him sick to his stomach to look at himself. It was everything he hated. The clawing wouldn't stop. He felt it everyday, but he never acknowledged it until 2 months ago. But that was something he didn't share with his dad, he loved him and told him what he needed to know, but there was no way he was going to tell his dad that he thinks he's a monster. He gets flashes, flashes of bright red eyes and the burgundy rusted steel color of blood.

0

It was disgusting to Felix.

0

Finishing up, Felix put on his new clothes and went down to his father's car. "I could drive, you know," Felix pointed out the obvious as he stared out the clear window. It was a rainy day, the green trees and dark grey streets could barely be seen through his thick lashes and he blinked repeatedly. "I know, but I don't want you to after that episode." Felix sighed as he nodded slowly, listening to his dad's words and accepting what he had said.

0

Pulling up to the grim school, Felix stepped out of the car as he didn't flinch when the rain started to pour down heavier on him. He pulled up his hood as he took large strides to the front door. Felix opened the door and walked straight to the nurses office. "Again?" Nurse Ruth sighed as she tsked and shook her curly brown locks at him. Her thick lips pulled into a tight line as her light brown eyes showed pity. Her freckle dotted cheeks pulled into a soft smile as she handed Felix a pass to go to his second period class. "Thanks" he mumbled to her as he snatched the note and stormed off to class.

0

'Why the fuck is everyone pitying me?' He asked himself. His pissed off demeanor surrounds his entire aura as he stormed through the brightly lit hallways. No one was in sight as he passed multiple classrooms. He stopped at the economics class. He pushed the door open and all eyes went to him. Walking to the teacher not looking at the snickering people he handed his note to the teacher. The teacher, Mr. Strutter nodded as he patted his back. But Felix didn't like that. His subtle anger filled the room as he looked back to Mr. Strutter as he sent him a warning glare. The teacher widened his eyes as he bowed down submissively to Felix.

0

The class giggled as Felix walked to the back of the class and went to work. He felt a little bad about embarrassing the teacher in front of his students, but he didn't want to care. No one touches Felix but the people who had permission to. No one was going to lay a hand on him if he didn't know about it first.

0

Felix had his head in his book. Never looking up because they had been given a worksheet to work on. He didn't bother to pay attention to the chattering people who didn't care about their school work.

0

Scribbling the last question of the page the door flew open to reveal the only guy in the school, besides Felix who was allowed to show up late, Antonio Rodriguez. The school's bad boy hunk who melted all the girls hearts and made the gay guys hornier than porn stars. He came in without acknowledging the people and stares that he got. Felix didn't pay any attention to this as he just rolled his eyes and narrowed his eyes at his finished worksheet.

0

He already knew where he was headed as Antonio walked towards him and passed his seat as he sat right next to Felix. "You're done already? Let me copy," Antonio's deep voice echoed in Felix's mind as he looked up finally at the sexy man.

0

Antonio's hair was slicked back as his dark black hair shimmered with gel that disgusted Felix. His angular face stared at Felix's soft delicate pale face. His tan brown skin was smooth and clear. His built body towered over the average man, but he was also lean. His muscles didn't overpower his look, which was nice. Antonio looked at Felix with those hungry light brown eyes that looked like melted pools of honey. The stunning specimen was moving closer to the cold pretty boy who could care less. "Here," Felix roughly shoves the paper at Antonio.

0

"Thanks," Antonio politely nodded as he started to work on the paper. All while he was working, Felix could feel the heated stares of everyone in class. It was always like this every single day. The jealous stares of everyone in class who wished they could be friends with the guy who would never leave Felix alone.

0

That's right, the polar opposite boys.

0

Felix, the cold and distant one with anger issues and the cheery, Prince Charming hunk, Antonio, who everyone wanted.

0

These two made inseparable best friends.

PARIS IN THE DARK

Hester: Very good, was short too the point , not lingering on the abuse, pity you didn’t let him step in earlier knowing the abuse was happening, but this is almost real for some women who have gone through it, just wish they could all have a princess at te end of thete tunnel
