“Ariana” called her mother, “please hurry we can’t be late.”
Mother was always nagging at her to be punctual. Only problem is, punctual to mother was at least a half hour early, often an hour early actually.
“Yes mother, I know” Ariana called back to her mother. “I’m almost finished. Be right down, if you wish to call the car I’ll be down by time it gets to the door.”
“Ariana, you know the car is already here, now get your tush in gear and get down here!” her mother replied.
‘Ugh’ Ariana mumbled under her breath. While she loved races, the derby was not her idea of a fun time but nonetheless she was a Princess and if she wanted to keep her fun Friday nights alive, she needed to be sure mother believed she could still prove to be royalty.
“Ariana!” Her mother yelled as she walked down the stairs.
“Mother please, there’s no need to yell.” She said as she walked up behind her mother.
As her mother straightened Ariana’s dress she gave an approving nod. “You look lovely my dear.”
“Thank you mother.” Ariana replied properly.
They headed out to the car and as the driver took them to the derby mother went on and on about how it was due time Ariana began thinking about a proper suitor.
“Mother please! When the time is right, it will happen” she said and sighed, while turning to look out the window.
“I’m not going to be around forever young lady, and one day you will be Queen” mother said as they arrived at the track.
“I know mother, but you can’t rush these thjngs.” Ariana said as she kissed her mother on the cheek.
The two ladies were dressed in proper attire. Long pencil skirts, elegant blouses and a matching wide-brimmed hats.
As they reached their seats they were greated by a tall young man. He smiled sweetly and welcomed them. His voice deep and calm. He had blonde hair and blue eyes, and something about the way he gave off an authoritative air made Ariana feel warmth growing between her legs.
Her mother laced her arm through the young man’s as he guided them to their seats.
“Please let me know if you ladies need anything,” he said as he addressed the Queen while offering a subtle smile to Ariana.
“Thank you young man, you are very kind” mother said as she nudged Ariana.
“Uh yes, thank you” Ariana said, almost feeling as if she had lost her voice.
As he excused himself Ariana just watched his muscular, tall form disappear from sight.
“Young lady, you really need to work on your execution” mother was saying as she pulled her looking glass to her eye to get a glimpse of the horses.
“He’s quite handsome though,” mother added.
Ariana just about choked on her water. “Mother!”
“Child I’m old but not dead, and at the rate your going, you’ll never find a man” her mother said.
Ariana didn’t reply but found herself thinking about that smile and the way he seemed to send a chill through her body just by looking at her.
At around halfway through the day Ariana excused herself to the restroom. As she walked out of the door of their private area she scanned for him.
Shaking her head she thought to herself, ‘I’m crazy to be thinking this. I don’t even know..’
“May I help you” came that deep, sensual voice from behind her making her feel wet in her panties.
She breathed deep as she turned around to face him, “know anywhere we can go to grab a real drink and have me back before mother gets too concerned?”
The right corner of his mouth curled into a half smile as he nodded for her to follow him. He took her to a small, private kitchen and offered her a beer.
“Thank you” she said as she smiled up at him. He stood at least a foot taller then her.
They drank the beers in silence and then he showed her back to her seat. He escorted her into the private area.
“Thank you” she said politely as she sat down next to mother.
“You are most welcome” he replied with a wink.
After the derby, Ariana and mother went back home and had tea.
The rest of the afternoon was spent talking about the coming week’s schedule.
As Ariana sat down for dinner with mother, mother began talking about the young man they had seen at the derby.
“He seems like a nice young man” mother was saying, “and at this point I don’t mind if you marry someone who isn’t royalty. Just so long as he is proper.”
“Mother please” Ariana said. “I will meet someone in my own time.”
Ariana had a cup of tea with mother before mother went off to bed.
“Please be safe tonight dear” mother called down the stairs.
“I always am mother” she replied before gathering her things and heading out the door.
