The creatures of myth are extinct. Only humans and vampires roam the land. The earth cries out to the gods to help ease its suffering. Only one hears it’s plea. The anguish of the earth maddens the young goddess, and the god of the dead must sacrifice his family in order to save the living. If he fails the earth, the gods will cease to exist.

I am a fan of the series (and got hooked on writing as well, as I got a chance to write with her as well - shameless plug for Crossworlds Vol. 1: Retribution). This is a move to adventure than romance. You get some mystery and views from the mc and villains as well. This story looks into this Earth's gods and how they run their world.
