Chapter 1: New Beginnings
As the wind brushes through my hair as I stand in the batters box, the sweat dripping from my forehead and my heart beating out of my chest. The Pitcher pitches a inside Curve, I open my hips and drive the ball over the fence, home run! They scream as I run around the bases.That’s the last time I got to hit at Wilmington High school. Hi, my name is Madelyn Graham and I’m a Sophmore at Mecklenburg High school, Charlotte, North Carolina. School starts in one week and we just arrived in Charlotte last night at 11 o’clock. Our neighborhood is full of sports cars and gated houses and at the very end is our four bedroom, five bath, two stories old brick house. My family isn’t exactly rich, my dad is an engineer and got a new job at Charlotte building state department and my mom is a Physical Therapist. I’m the middle child in my family, I have an older brother named Carter and a younger Brother named Charlie and then there’s me.
